Warning on brown powder (mdma/pmma) - ireland

It looks vile...

Notice in that article they cant even get the chemical name of mdma right they call it "methylamphetamine"

Is there a dance safe program in the UK? I think they are a US based group that hand out testing kits outside raves and suchlike, I wanted to set one up at my college after I tested a few of my mates pills for them and all but two of them were actually mdma, the rest were speed, caffeine and 2CB.

The thing about the safety profile of MDMA that has always troubled me, is that some people seem to have a fatal immune reaction to it even in very small doses. There was a young woman here last year that died after taking half a pill. So it can difficult to argue for the legal sale of MDMA when such tragic events can occur, even if, on the whole, deaths could be reduced by legalisation, e.g. removal contaminants and such, as in this case.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

^^

The safety profile of MDMA has proven to be amazingly good given the lack of research prior to it becoming massively popular over a few years, 20 odd years ago.

Numbers are always difficult to be sure of but if we compare these numbers, Ecstacy Deaths in the UK with the 100,000+ that die every year in the UK from Tobacco related diseases and the 10,000 + per year that die from Alcohol and it's clear that deaths directly attributed to MDMA are very low.

All substances carry some risk, for example at least 100 people die every year in the UK from taking Paracetamol which is very toxic to the liver. Rare allergic reactions to food cause around 150 deaths in the UK per year, unfortunately life is a gamble on a daily basis as far as drugs are concerned the only way to increase the odds in your favour is not to take any at all.

It has to be accepted that people take drugs, many of us, for fun! Some people use drugs to help with existing medical conditions that are either expensive to treat professionally or have an inadequate official treatment. Others take drugs for enlightenment. Others still take drugs simply because of the risk, they like danger, the same sorta people that drop out of airplanes with a bit of nylon strapped to their backs. If the government is happy enough to allow risk takers to jump outta airplanes (1 in 5000 jumps results in a fatality, I understand) why is it not happy to allow drugs users to take considerably smaller risk?

If they truly are interested in our well-being they'd make certain that a mobile phone cannot be used in a moving vehicle. They'd make sure that no automobile would be produced that could move faster than the speed limit. They'd impose tighter controls on alcohol & tobacco.

They don't really even need to legalise anything. They just need to move away from this "drugs is BAD" rubbish & start focusing on the well-being of ALL drugs users. They could subsidise testing kits & allow their use at events, they could use the media to alert users & medical professionals quickly to dodgy batches, they could decriminalise cannabis & draw teenagers away from drugs dealers.

Don't start me on the profits that could be made from legal drugs supply. The profit margin is unimaginable, absolutely huge! With the taxes reaped from legal cannabis alone our government could alleviate child poverty in Britain within a few years. If cocaine were legalised the profits are even greater. It costs little more to produce a kilo of cocaine than it does to produce a kilo of sugar! The profits could feed the fucking THIRD WORLD!

According to the news on the radio now it's a dangerous new drug called Mandy. How stupid can these reporters be.

At least a proper warning was issued and people can know what to stay the fuck away from.

I heard on the radio the powder was quote a mix of stimulant and psychoactive unquote for fuck sake. How stupid are these media people?

RIP to the lads. One was a cousin of my mates missus.

I think pma and pmma has become a much bigger problem lately. We had those einsteins and mates have had several pills which im sure contained amounts of the shit.
Am I right in thinking mdma tainted with pma results in using a different starting material other than saffrole? I remember shulgin talking about something_

We need to be indiscrimate about whatt we take. Careful about what pills we buy. I have mates that will not listen to reason, and will eat whatever shit testers are thrown at them. Madness in any day and age.

Self sufficiency is the way.

Nuts are legal. My mate will die if he eats one.

one of the dead guys was a chemical engineer grad, so there is a small chance that he cooked it up himself. RIP either way!

this is awful news! I got a text from my "guy" saying he has "propper mdma" in, i asked what colour and he said brown. i told him to be very weary and told him about this story but no doubt he will try to shift it anyway. But for all i know it could be perfectly fine as he said it was nice big crystals but that means nothing these days

Doctor Death says just say no to Mandy.

Good to see Irish journalists went to the same mental school for journalists as their Brit counterparts.

There is brown crystal MDMA in Ireland at the moment that is perfectly fine.
The stuff reported in those articles is a brown powder.

I wouldnt touch powder mdma of any colour. Unless it had a certificate of authenticity via gc ms. Or I knew for a fact that it was just the end of a big bag of good crystal.

MDMA is produced in crystal formation. The motives behind reducing crystals to powder are nefarious to say the least.

That brown shit in the pictures looks horrendous. Altough I imagine the pmma or pma is there due to bad chemistry as oppossed to contamination after production.

I get so frustrated with the lack of knowledge re drugs in the public and the media.
