UK - Legality of 25C-NBOMe & 25I-NBOMe

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I thought I'd share my recent experience which ties in nicely with this topic.

I was recently arrested and incarcerated for drug related offences, amongst the items seized from my house was 50g of 25C-NBOMe and 1Kg of MHRB Powder. When I received the forensic report back it stated that the 25C was not controlled under the MDA 1971, so any unreacted 2C-H or 2C-C clearly didn't show up. However to my horror the MHRB came back as 'Class A: DMT' and I was subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply 1Kg of DMT. The initial forensic report didn't specify the purity of the MHRB/'DMT' and it wasn't until I had my own report done did it show that it was in fact only 1%. SOCA's forensic reports just state if a material 'contains' a controlled substance. Even with my report stating it was only 1% I really had to battle to prove it was uncontrolled as I still couldn't get a report to state that it was MHRB. In the end it was never even resolved in court but the charge was dropped and changed to production of DMT instead, luckily I was only sentenced for producing 1 gram of pure DMT. So I guess the moral of the story is to be prepared if you get busted with MHRB.

Thanks for the post, I remember an article in the news a while back where they seized hundreds of kilo's of MHRB and then claimed that they'd seized however many hundreds of thousands of pounds in super-dangerous-makes-you-eat-your-dog class A's. Appalling.

Interesting that 25c wasn't controlled though, perhaps they used a different synthesis route or cleaned it up thoroughly enough to get rid of any un-reacted 2C-X. Can only speculate but it's good to know that even when they were being pedantic enough to get you for MHRB they couldn't get you for an NBOMe.

I contacted the lab that synthesised the 25C for me and they confirmed that 2C-H was used in the synthesis, they also stated their products are always >99%. Still even if that 1% of impurities was only 0.1% 2C-H that would surely be enough to show up on a GC/MS. Weird. I know the forensic lab had some difficulties with some of the other substances SOCA seized, they couldn't work out what a gram of 4-HO-MiPT was for months, I think they even had to send it to a second lab. Perhaps they were just slightly incompetent?

It's a long story but it was via another investigation that was only loosely related to what I was ultimately convicted of. No mail was intercepted by customs however a mail box was discovered that had packs waiting for me. If you're Mona Lisa from Fu***ed then you know me as someone else, if not don't worry.
