Where if anywhere can you rail a line of smack in public or do any other hard drugs without getting in trouble? Kind of a dumb question as there probabley is nowhere like that. But im curious.
Second question: Where can you walk down the street smoking a fat joint without being hassled byTHE MAN? I know there must be somehwere. Nepal is one place I know of.

I may be wrong, but for question one I know Portugal is renowned for having a very lax attitude towards drugs. Allowed up to 5g of just about anything I believe.
For question 2, Amsterdam would be the obvious answer, but I think Canada is pretty cool on the whole pot smoking side of things as is California.
Mexico aswell from what I here I had a friend who went over there on holiday and he showed me pictures of them snorting blow and smoking spliffs just in broad daylight, apparently no one seemed to mind,

That's cool about Portugal, I gotta look it up. I always thought that 5 gram rule applied to only cannabis. Amsterdam was always the weed haven of the world but I read recently that they are going to be implementing some law that denies access to tourists who want to purchase cannabis products. Hopefully it is just BS though. Always been a dream of mine to smoke in the district.

Nice.%)

Portugal is the safest bet, as all drugs for personal use are decriminalized. Also Amsterdam and Berlin have very lax attitudes towards drugs.

Portugal sounds like a pretty hip place to be for a drug connoisseur.
Does anyone know what the drug policies in Peru are?

i think some drugs are legal in Peru for personal use but not being from there probably makes you a big target.

there are many places in NA where cops take a hands off approach and let junkies/addicts/drug users smoke/shoot/snort drugs in public. Maybe you are asking for a place where you can just break up a line on a restaurant table and snort it in front of people without issue, i'm not even sure portugal is cool with something like that.

I live in Canada and i constantly see people smoking joints while walking down the street. I used to do it myself and i've never seen anyone ever get in trouble for it. Almost everywhere i go i can smell cannabis.

Well I'm gunna take a trip to canada then:) Sounds great. I live in Maine so it is only like a 3 hour drive. And yea I guess I mean more like the hands off approach you mentioned opposed to just railing a line on a restaurant table.
I am aware that many foreign countries with relaxed drug law enforcement make an exception with foreigners especially american's Canadians and British folk in the hopes of fattening their wallet a little. I have heard some shitty stories where people had to spend a night in jail and pay a hefty fine for doing something drug related that natives would never get in trouble for. NO FAIR :p

In Berlin smoking weed is as "exotic" as someone drinking a cup of coffee in public. The smell of weed is felt everywhere and no one cares (it's legal). Amsterdam feels conservative compared to Berlin (but Berlin has a very strong left/anarchist vibe, a reason I love the city, not many restrictions on anything). But I'd still say Portugal is the most liberal place, as long as it's for personal use, the cops don't care if you have heroin or cocaine with you.

^That's interesting, I've often wondered what it'd be like where I lived if we were cooler about pot. Perhaps we'd have a few less heaps of alcoholic, mashed up messes cluttering up the streets at the weekends

That's some interesting info on Berlin I was unaware of. Thx.

Belgium is pretty lax aswell. It's not allowed to be smoking in public, but there's no one who would bother you for it. Had plenty of cops walk by while we were smoking weed in the park. Also holding harddrugs is ever hardly adressed if it's for personal use unless you're driving or something.

In these countries all personal drug use is decriminalized: Portugal, Spain, Colombia, Uruguay (where drug use has never been illegal) and Italy. Quite a few other EU & South American states have plans in the pipe to follown suit.

can you not smoke joints while walking down the street in america? here, you know you're not doing something that may be frowned upon but thats as far as it goes

as far as i know, portugal is the place to be for hard drugs
