I think they should have ended the show last Sunday, as in, it should have been the Series Finale. I think it would have been a perfect way to end it.
This isn't Spiderman; I don't need to see a showdown between Hank and Walt. All the loose ends were tied - Walt became king, got his pride back, provided enough income for his family, Fring and the operation had been eliminated. So, why not leave the series with people wondering what happened to Walt and Hank later in their lives? Why must everything be so tightly and neatly woven for the mass audience?
That final scene where Hank realizes what WW stands for and they play the flashback conversation between him and Walt. That was brilliant. No show could ever top that ending and the series would be critically and universally acclaimed (as it should be) as one of the best series ever.
I'll eat crow if the last season ties up MORE loose ends but I just think its silly to keep going at this point. 99/100 times the Series Finale of any great show is vilified by the masses, i.e Sopranos obviously comes to mind. Thoughts?
Cheers
