Festivals 2012

copied this from another forum about Electric Picnic

A lot of that going on. Two people near me had their tents opened only for the guy to run off when the occupants stirred. He had a Liverpool accent.

Separately, a girl in a tent near me began shouting hysterically at 7 this morning. Someone left a Barry White along with an explosion of diarrhoea outside her tent on the floor of the gazebo. She kept shouting "How could someone do this?" Not a nice thing to wake up to.

Working at Creamfields was an eyeopener to how much people can't handle their drugs, seen people go into complete psychosis, dealing with people constantly fucked on MXE and doing all manner of daft shit, seizures in the middle of muddy pathways. Tents just getting strewn by organised teams of scallies, people sleeping in soaking wet sleeping bags and wondering why they are waking up with hypothermia, one merry group of people having fights with human shit like fucking chimpanzees. In fact people were skipping searching tents for stuff and just stealing the whole tent. Also a highlight were seeing how fucked up on various things the people jumping over the fence were, want to know how the fuck you climb a rope ladder successfully when you are about 10mg from a k-hole

Staff camping was a dream though, couldn't see how anyone would willingly want to sleep in general at Creamfields, and it was a pretty good weekend :)

Farm festival was the only one i got to this year. Totally free of all the sponsor shit and so many underground, great bands and DJs. Local cider and and ale, rocking bands (all genres) and wicked atmosphere. Cheap as chips too :)

Wasn't rockstar at Creamfields, bet most of this post is about him.

That sounds insane. I'm so grateful for being in the staff bit away from all the madness. Did you stay until Monday?

Change MXE to LSD/Ketamine and nothing has changed, NOTHING AT ALL, in 15 years since I last worked festivals. After staff camping you'd never pay for a ticket again would you?

^ Had mates who went to that, what a fiasco..

I've not managed to attend a single festival this summer, but going to Mischief in a few weeks - anyone else going too? Looks like a mini Boomtown :D

I'm not going to Mischief but my lad is, he got a freebie doing some kinda jester/juggling walkabout shizzle

Juggling or Samba Drumming is the key to getting a load of free festival tickets each year. A few mates of mine do it and have been to loads of brilliant ones this year and only had to pay travel.

I've been considering trying to get work at some next year, as if you look at Electric Picnic ticket price is like 230 euro and if you don't mind missing a few of the main acts or working a few hours a day you can get in free. :) I'm much more into the festival atmosphere anyway as opposed to bands, only ever end up seeing 3-4 unless it's got something good to dance to.

bangface, unreal, met so many nice people, our neighbours were from london and one of them used BL for a while, they were even nice enough to come into our caravan and fill us full of nos :D bangface, if you aint been, u aint lived!
