Hello all.
I have gotten a hold of some 8mg hydromorphone pills. This will be the first time that I shoot up, so I plan on starting with 2mg, with 4mg being my standard dose when I plug it.
The problem is that I manage to set up a nice, clean looking shot and everything, but as soon as I stick myself and I feel as I may be in a vein and I go to pull the plunger to see if blood flows in the needle, I end up moving too much and I'm out. My hands are quite shaky.
My question is: other than pulling the plunger, what are some good ways to know you're in a vein? If I were to leave a little bit of air at the end of the shot, will some blood flow in when I'm in a vein, or it that something only expected from an artery? Also, even though I can find some decent veins, they seem to roll a lot, and a belt is the best tourniquet I have at my disposal.
I've searched far and wide for a decent answer on this, so some guidance would be appreciated.
Just for the record, I have no friends who shoot up, so I can't have someone else do it for me.
(By the way, I found a good looking vein on the top of my right arm. Would this place be good for a first time shooter, or should I try at the conventional bend of the elbow area, even though the vein there for me isn't that great?)
Thanks.
