on 2.5 mg of methadone(just starting to titrate (sp))up swelling in my feet bad

I started it due to never damamge and a buldgine l4 l5 and the back pain and I stared sweeliojng like I was 8.5 months pregnant in my feet...needless to say I took another dose that I was suppose to and no sswelling could it just be a a couincidence<sp?>....thanks

Swollen feet/ankles can be a side effect of methadone but it is very unusual. Side effects most often occur in the early stages of treatment and improve after you've been taking it a while. If you didn't experience any swelling the second time you took the methadone that is a good sign that it is not likely serious or an allergic reaction, but please notify your doctor about the swelling. Did you notice any other side effects?

Good point, Swollen feet/ankles are a common side effect, however if your hands become swollwn as well you need to seek emergency treatment. Observe yourself for any other side effects and notify Doctor like swimmingdancer said.

swollen feet can be a sign that your body is retaining fluid. I would go see a doctor asap to get your kidneys checked out.
