If I usually shoot about 5mg of dilaudid, what would be a good dose for snorting oxymorphone IR. thanks.

I'm just having trouble figuring out what the intranasal dose would be. Anyone with experience with these 2 have any advice as to what intranasal dose of oxymorphone would be similar to 4 or 5 mg of IV dilaudid?

i have to ask why you'd snort oxymorphone IR when you bang dillies? oxymorphone is like 50% stronger than hydromorphone when IV'd, and lasts longer too. I have snorted the pre TRF oxymorphone, and the first time 10mg was a little too much. I had 5 30s that kept me effed up for the better part of a week. If I had an IR I'd be finding a rig, but that's me. iirc, oxym has a bioavailabilty of ~ 40% when snorted. use the search engine here, im sure this has been covered before by persons more knowledgeable than myself.

eta: injecting hydromorphone hits you in about 5-10 seconds, no drug snorted is gonna have that rapid an onset, even oxymorphone

It's going to vary from person to person, so you are going to have to figure this out first hand. I recommend starting off with 5mg of oxymorphone and then increasing by 2.5mg until you find a dose that is good for you.

And I have to ask, why would you question why someone wants to stop IVing a drug? This is a harm reduction forum so if someone is taking a step to minimize harm by stopping IVing then it shouldn't be questioned. Also, I prefer intranasal administration over IV since I don't care for the rush much and prefer the nice come-up from sniffing my drugs, as well as the effects lasting a lot longer. This isn't really the place for comparing which ROA we think is better though, so I'm going to get back to the topic on hand.

Thanks for the responses.

I also have a question about dosing frequency with oxymorphone. With dilaudid, I usually dose 5mg via IV about every four hours or so. I believe oxymorphone may have a longer duration and so I don't want to dose too frequently and have the effects build up to a dangerous level. So should I be dosing the oxymorphone (via intranasal), less frequently then I do with dilaudid? If so, about how long should I wait between dosing ( the oxymorphone is IR btw). Thanks

im sorry but this thread makes me so jealous. i would love some of either of those right now. I know when I switched from IVing Dilaudid to snorting it, it was like I couldnt even get the same effect. I think since everyone is different, your best bet is to just start off with a low dose and work your way up to desired effects.

Yea you are going to want to space out the oxymorphone dosing a bit more. I originally said to start with 5mg, but 4mg would probably be better (if you have a 10mg pill just make one pile slightly smaller than the other and do that one). It lasts a while so adding 2.5mg every 20-25 minutes will still add to the high. Once you get to 40 minutes since your first dose (~20 minutes since your second dose) you should have a good idea about how to proceed. If you think that you need more, do a little less than you think you need. Opana has a strong nod, and really takes over after an hour or so and doesn't really end until you fall asleep, considering you take it in the late afternoon.
