Drug documentaries on TV / Internet

Dead Famous - Doco on Melbourne's Underworld War

Dead Famous lifts the lid on the slaughter that resulted when two underworld tribes went to war over drug profits during Melbournes infamous gangland killings.

This one-hour documentary takes viewers behind the frenzied headlines to put the killings in their true perspective.

Leading crime writers John Silvester and Andrew Rule analyse the causes and effects of the decade-long war. They investigate the reasons it began, why it was allowed to escalate and flourish for so long and point to what lessons, if any, have been learned by law makers and breakers alike.

Not sure if these have been posted already, too lazy to scan through, but here they are anyway. - Its about Scopolamine! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToQ8PWYnu04

I trust everyone has seen the Krokodil doco as well, the same people who did the one on Scopolamine did one on that as well.

And there are also 4 episodes of a really interesting show about the worlds largest medical Marijuana dispensary in the US. All episodes are on Youtube, its called Weed Wars. Don't think they'll be making anymore due to some of the content in the show.. aha. Sorry if someone has already posted these!

Hell yeah I remember the Hive. Overgrow was an awesome hang out as well before the DEA shut it down.

dateline doco on bath salts

on tonight on sbs, I'm expecting it to be an open minded honest fact based scientific report that presents a balanced non sensational piece of quality journalism that doesn't resort to cliches and stereotypes and does a lot more than just push the fear and propaganda buttons......

Bwahahahahahahahaha. :D:D:D:D

I find it interesting that their key story involved a kid who only started using bath salts because he was busted with marijuana and was put on a strict drug testing regime... Yet still the blame is placed entirely on bath salts. How can they lay out such an obvious case yet still fail to acknowledge (excluding the last 15 seconds) that the real problem was that somebody who was leading a successful, happy life while smoking weed was forced to seek an alternate way of getting high.

Same old :|

Just watched "Russell Brand - From Addiction to Recovery" about a british comedian/ex-addict, was a pretty good watch although I think he's a little too one sided on the whole maintenance v. abstinence debate, he rips on methadone a lot and while I understand where he's coming from about parking people on maintenance then just not doing anything, I think he goes too far in refusing to acknowledge that it does have a legitimate place in treatment. Seems to go out of his way to make methadone doctors look bad, etc. But maybe thats just a different situation in the UK.

Anyway, it's an interesting insight into one man's recovery and the lessons he learned, not sure what the rules are about linking to piracy sites but it's available on all the usual places.

Yeh ok, I'll retract my criticism, I just never seem to get a good reception here.

Thanks for the retraction :)

There is a lot of that here unfortunately. My advice is just to try and ignore the trolls if you can. You can always report any post that you find offensive also and the mods will handle it.

Everyone's input is respected and valued here.

Except yours and Web Kevin's of course.

Edit: I should add some kind of smiley to make sure I'm not taken the wrong way :D

No chance, the promo was totally pushing the fear angle.

I'm not sure what relevance AusDD has at all. It's the lamest part of bluelight.

Thanks for putting it in the right place.

I dont see what relevance ur post has in this thread. Its a great thread, me like many other curious drug takers enjoy watching docus or movies etc that involves drugs and similar topics. There is no reason to clutter this thread with unnecessary comments. Its not ur typical lame thread asking the same thing over and over even though there are 100's of threads that covers that topic, now those threads have no relevance.

Yeh please keep this thread here. I like a good doco, especially when its about drugs! I've been put on to some good ones via this thread.

I just watched that dateline one on the hive, and hear I thought I'd seen all the best MDMA ones.

It broke my heart to hear that "strike" ended up being sentenced at the end. I dunno if any of you guys used to talk to him through the hive, but if anyone did send him my best wish's.
Does anyone know how long his sentence was? If he is out yet? Brilliant mind like his doesn't deserve to be locked up.
