TWO WHEELS ARE BEST! EADD Bicycle Thread.

I have panniers both sides, and a top box behind the seat, and a crap basket on the front cause it's quick to detach. I have a drinks cage too

I'm talking more about late night, too drunk to drive type cycling ... my tongue is firmly in cheek, mainly

9 - 16 year old me spent life glued to a dodgy chopper, then a raleigh shopper that probably weighed a 100 kilos.
By the time I was 12 the shopper went everywhere with me, and I have no idea how I managed it, but I regularly threw it over a 6ft school wire fence and took it to places bikes were just not meant to go.

When I started mowing lawns for cash when I was 10, I regularly strapped an old qualcast [sp?] push mower to the back of it with the main stem of that jutting out 4 ft behind me into the traffic on major roads.

Being able to balance 2 carriers on each handle was par for the course at that age too ...

I have suffered from poor balance all my life. It is all I can do to take one hand off the handlbars to provide a turn inidication. No hands? Give it three seconds and I'm picking gravel out my knees.

On the other hand I have carried another lad sat on my handlebars for some distance.

When I see people cycling along on one bike, bring along another bike with their other hand, the blood drains from my face. I do not understand how they do that.

It's this one:

Cracking bike Effie <3 get a basket ;)

I'm another one with poor balance and regularly fall off my bike, especially after a glass of wine or 2. Tight corners and narrow passages freak me out, I just can't do them - I need wideness of berth to bike :|

Had a bit of a laugh yesterday afternoon watching my hubby attempt to fix my old bike rack to the car. Of course being a man he wanted to do it all himself with no guidance (instructions long lost) from me - it being a simple looking problem. 1st attempt he had it upside down and I had to be called out to * cough* review the situation :D He'd kill me if he knew I was posting about that =D

Bike racks on cars look unstable, they just do. Such is the world we live in.

Ha I'm with you on that Knock, I CANNOT ride no handed to save my life. In fact I struggle giving a turn signal if I'm going at a decent speed!

great thread. i went cycling up snowdon with a bottle of lucozade and a mobile phone. got a puncture. had to phone my dad for a lift

carry a spare inner tube, pump & a tyre lever is my advice.
