Uncircumcised

I'm having trouble making sense of this, and you must be misunderstanding me or I must be misunderstanding you.

You do realize that we're talking about infants here, right? Circumcision at infancy? These "others" are infants, and they're incapable of making very many decisions for themselves. If you're suggesting that it's wrong to make decisions for an infant that may affect the rest of its life... then... well sweetheart, that's called parenting.

I have got to be misunderstanding you here because it's just too idiotic a thing to ever suggest; please, just please clarify this statement for me.

making decisions for an infant is necessary and clearly part of being a parent, whereas cutting off a part of your child for no good reason and not allowing them to make that (unwise) choice for themselves as an adult is not necessary or beneficial to that child. if we were talking about chopping off part of your daughters clitoris there would probably be a different reaction but i fail to see the difference. if you went out and got a tattoo for your child or a nose job at one years old everyone would say you were crazy but cosmetic genital altering is okay because its what people have "always done" in certain parts of the world? bullshit

circumcission isnt necessary and its a bizarre premise to begin your viewpoint with

there is a lot of reductionism in this thread

How anybody, let alone a fucking mod, is aloud to promote circumcision on a forum which is first and foremost a HR forum is beyond me

I'm a moderator of SLR. I've been sitting back watching this thread and didn't reply until now. Keep it civil or else posts will be removed, and people will be warned even if they are a moderator.

I'm against circumcision for all of the reasons why people have posted in this thread so far.

Just because someone is not cut that doesn't mean that they're somehow "dirty", "unclean", have an "ugly" penis/genitals, or other BS and myths that are being posted in this thread.

In parts of Africa, Arabic countries, and Indonesia they say this about girls and women who have intact genitals and a clitoral hood that's not removed.

I've been with men who are cut who did not have nice looking genitals, and who had genitals that smelled nasty to me. No I would not say that circumcision is akin to removing wisdom teeth, getting a ruptured appendix out, or a "minor surgery" or "low risk".

A guy I grew up with when he was getting cut the doctor/surgeon messed up and botched his penis and he had to have a skin graph. There have been cases where the entire head or glans of the penis has been accidentally removed.

I've never had a woman or man refuse sex with me or not give me oral sex because I have a foreskin, and yeah I have had a lot of blowjobs. I've never had issues with condoms not working correctly, breaking, or slippiing off because of having a foreskin. Circumcision does not prevent someone from getting infected with HIV and other STDs or from someone infecting someone with HIV and other STDs, and circumcision is not nearly as effective at preventing HIV and STD infection/transmission as using a condom and practicing safer sex.

If circumcision actually did prevent HIV and other STDs you would not have seen at least two or three generations of American bisexual and gay men die from AIDS or complications from being HIV+ who were all cut at birth, and even in the United States today where most men are cut there's still a high rate of HIV and other STDs.

There is no absolute medical indication for routine circumcision of the newborn. In 1975, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) stated in no uncertain terms that "there is no absolute medical indication for routine circumcision of the newborn." In 1983, the AAP and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) restated this position. In 1999 and again in 2005, the AAP again restated this position of equivocation.

It happens more often than some child having complications following a circumcision.

I've taken billions of pisses in my life, zipped and unzipped my pants a countless multitude of times and it's never happened to me.

I have male friends who are not cut and they've never had this happen while pissing or wearing pants with a zipper.

Either way it's a pointless and completely flawed argument for infant circumcision.

70% of my mates are circumcised yet not one of them has had a problem after their circumcision. In fact when my son was done I took the day off expecting tears and we sat on the couch together watching the cricket, both happy as a pig in mud. No discomfort, not even any blood.

Everyone in this thread are crying "won't someone please think of the children?", when reality is it is a painless and uncomplicated procedure.

I am not getting into the debate.... I have an opinion but I will keep it to myself....

Just wanted to say here in the US south, I have never seen an adult male penis, or slept with one, that was not circumsized...

However, the trend for keeping intact is in full swing, so just about every male infant I have seen in the past ten years is intact....I guess my daughter will get the pleasure of learning how to deal with foreskin,,,,

it's not something you have to learn how to deal with. it's what a natural penis looks/acts like. something being an exception to your experience does not mean it is a problem. if anyone is missing out, i'd say it is you.

also, busty "painless" is a downright lie and you know it.

"won't someone please think of the children?"
...you were the one that brought it up.

if you were gay it would be a plus being uncircumcised, most American gay guys love uncut dick, its a huge turn on for them.
