I was just wondering how much Clonidine should I take if I were to use it for sleep Is .3mg at once to much?

Not sure on this one because it can fuck your heart rate up to the point of stopping, try 2 pills and if nothing take another pill.

^ agreed check your pulse and blood pressure. If you have a low heart rate or blood pressure do not use. Benadryl is safer for a sleep aide.

0.1-0.2mg should be enough for most people

This. I have the 0.2mg pills and 1 is sometimes too much, so I start off with a half. Be careful when standing up quickly as the drug will cause light-headedness, and try not to elevate your limbs in bed or they will 'fall asleep' pretty quickly.

Second this, I'd try either that or melatonin first as they are both usually fairly effective and have a benign side effect profile when compared with that of clonidine.

Slightly offtopic question, are there really Clonidine/Catapres/Clopheline available in 0.2mg doses and it actually works? Where I live only 2mg pills are available, found it to be pretty much miracle drug.

^ In the US it comes in 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3mg. Trust me, 0.2mg works. I don't even see how 2mg could be a safe dose unless you are being treated by a doctor for a more extreme case.

Well I use 100mg Diphenhydramine and 4mg Chlorpheniramine basically every night and have been for almost 2 years now. Some people I know are using these Clonidine I got the 0.2mg Pills also to potentiate the Effects of Opioids/Opiates and Benzodiazepines I figured it can not be that safe using it in those ways..... But than again they are all still alive and reported to have slept and I qoute "Great nights sleep." lol. Is there actually 2mg Clonidine Pills in a different country lol in that case I doubt 0.3 could be dangerous than again could be wrong which why I am asking here for a more accurate answer.

Oh also I have no idea if this matters or not but when I was 7 years old I was prescribed Ritalin not sure what dosage and Clonidine to help me sleep again not sure what dosage and was given them for basically about 3 full years until I was 10 years old.

I would never mix clonidine with opiates. One of the reasons why I like using clonidine for opiate withdrawal is that I know that if someone calls me offering me dope, I will turn it down since the clonidine has me so 'out of it' that it would ruin the high, as well having me worried about dying or something. People that take clonidine to potentiate opiates are probably the kind of people that just try to get as fucked up as possible, without caring as much about the quality of the high.

Clonidine is also prescribed for ADHD, particularly in the way it was prescribed to you, i.e in combination with stimulant medications to help with sleep while possibly treating other symptoms.

"Clonidine has been investigated and prescribed first as an antihypertensive drug in the 1950s. It has found new uses later, including treatment of some types of neuropathic pain, opioid detoxification, sleep hyperhidrosis, and as veterinary anaesthetic drug. Clonidine is used to treat anxiety and panic disorder. It is also FDA approved to treat ADHD in an extended release form. It is becoming a more accepted treatment for insomnia, as well as for relief of menopausal symptoms.

Clonidine is increasingly used in conjunction with stimulants to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), for which it is administered in late afternoon or evening for sleep, and because it sometimes helps moderate ADHD-associated impulsive and oppositional behavior, and may reduce tics, a problem in which a part of the body moves repeatedly and suddenly.[1] Clonidine can be used in the treatment of Tourette syndrome (specifically for tics).[2] Clonidine along with Methylphenidate has been studied for treatment of ADHD. [3][4] In 2010, the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of clonidine either as an adjunct to traditional stimulant therapy or as a monotherapy in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (source)."

I think I was on 20MG Ritalin Time-Released and 0.1MG Clonidine Pills lol. But these people are using the Clonidine Specifically to enhance the Nod part. You know falling in and out of sleep and more importantly sleep lol. But what is considered a safe dosage because nobody has died yet. Are they all just lucky playing Russian Roulette or does the Danger kind of only involve REALLY high doses? Also they are using Hydromorph Contin if that makes a difference and maybe a bit of Heroin here and there idk lol Oxys possibly also it is Canada eh. When I say my friends I guess you can be talking about myself too because I might try this unless everyone says this is going to straight up FUCKING KILL ME BRO!?!?

There is a difference between a nod and a euphoric nod. Some drugs will increase the nod but not make it any more euphoric. The only way to get a more euphoric nod is to take more opiates, but you also have to be careful with that. I wouldn't mess with a perfectly good opiate high by combining it with clonidine anyway. It will just dull the effects, and make you too drowsy to fully enjoy it.

Clonidine on its own can be dangerous in higher doses or in someone with low blood pressure to begin with, so it must be more dangerous when combined with other drugs that may lower your blood pressure or depress your CNS since you may already be getting less oxygen in your system due to respiratory depression. Improper use of clonidine (or use in someone who already has low blood pressure) can cause hypotension which can lead to deprivation of oxygen and nutrients to the brain and vital organs which can result in shock. Someone on here recently mentioned that their doctor wouldn't prescribe them clonidine for opiate withdrawal since they had low blood pressure, so that should tell you something. Since it's not recreational the risks of taking it in higher than recommended doses or in combination with other drugs are not worth it.

My blood pressure is average, or maybe a little high (it was high last time I checked a year ago, but I lost weight so maybe that helped lower it) and 0.2mg of clonidine is able to make my hands fall asleep when my arm is elevated, so I can't see how it wouldn't be dangerous when combined with CNS depressants.

I think that the person that said that only 2mg pills are available where they live are either mistaking it for 2 micrograms or something. I can't find any source that mentions 2mg doses of the drug, and the highest recommended dose that I see is 1.4mg, and that's the total daily dosage given in several smaller doses, and is for severe cases. It would make absolutely no sense that the pill would come in a dose that is higher than any of the recommended doses.

I'm using the Clopheline (Catapres/Clonidine in US) right now for coming off Methadone basically CT. And yes, sorry, I confused it with the Clonazepam I'm taking. :D Just checked the pills and they were 0.15mg Clophelin. :) I remember when I first got the RX I took like 4 at a time, smoked some fentanyl combined with my daily 60mL (at the time) MMT and went to a barbershop. The lady cutting my hair had to slap me in my face atleast 5 times a minute, but atleast she managed to do a OK haircut.

^ Ah ha, I knew it was also possible that you were mixing it up with clonazepam.

Clonidine works great for withdrawals, but you've got to stay home and lounge around for those days since it can be quite sedating. I find it to be more sedating than benzos and it helps a lot with RLS, although some benzos do have decent muscle relaxant properties. I've been prescribed benzos for a while though, so can't exactly depend on them to help me through withdrawal, so clonidine is my go to drug for opiate withdrawal.

It should be mentioned that discontinuation of clonidine can cause rebound effects, primarily an increase in blood pressure since the medication had been lowering blood pressure. If you were using it for a week or more you should probably taper down before discontinuing the medication. I know that when I took it at doses of 0.2-0.3mg for about a week I had that feeling like I was going to rip out of my skin the following night after I had stopped taking it. I took 0.1mg and was fine after that, but taking larger doses for longer would require more of a taper.

if one were to obtain powdered clonidine, can anybody suggest a safe way to dose it?
can it be dissolved in liquid or a solvent like people do with phenazepam in propylene glycol?
0.1-0.2 mg is minuscule, if you are dealing with a pure powder...scary.

Doctors prescribe it pretty easily, so I would try getting it from a doctor if you can instead of having to worry about measuring doses.

Clonidine is soluble in water so you can use liquid dosing. I have never heard of pure clonidine powder though, so would be pretty skeptical about it.

I heard and read that Clonidine can cause Nausea and Nausea is one my biggest fears in life lol is it a common side effect? Also how long does it take for it come into Full-Effect?
