I have looked the site over and picked up some things to help with my Fentanyl 75 withdrawal starting today. I have been on Opioids for a real long time the Fentanyl for 7 months before that 3 years of oxy up to 140 mg a day, prior to that perc 10 up to 20 a day. I know this is going to suck real bad and I started taking the restless leg pills I'm also on prestiq but I have no idea how that will help. Any ideas that will help other then more opioids?

This all started with disc herniation now I have 6 discs in a row degenerating I have scar tissue, I had a discogram done and 3 discs are pressing on nerves for my right side mostly my leg. I can't have surgery a 7 level fusion would be suicide so I'm going to deal with the pain, the drugs are just to much I'm losing my grip on life so I decided to try and stop for many reasons.

I would get some Immodium/Loperamide (OTC), RX's for Clonidine and Clonazepam if available and just sit ontop of that until the withdrawal ends. Fentanyl is pretty short lasting so it should last 7-8 days tops at worst. Usually you will start feeling better on day 5 or so.

Well, from what I've heard immodium can really help out withdrawals. Considering your going to be going through Fentanyl withdrawals they might be a little more pronounced then minor opiate withdrawals.
I'm going to kick my oxy habit soon.

-Immodium
-Benzos (if you find some)
-Weed (ALOT OF IT)

Now this is my kit to help, I've got xanax, valium and clonozapam. and a whole load of weed. Now its not for everyone, (like if you dont smoke weed or take benzos) but it can all really help.

Best of luck to you!

^^That, except from weed, cause it would help if you like it, but a lot of people don't like it, so if you are one of these, smoking it through the W/D, i'm sure it would rather make you feel VERY uncomfortable. I'm sure you know you're going the difficult way, quiting up cold turkey from fent 75, yeah, i really admire you, (not ironic at all, my friend, this thing needs real balls to do it..).
Well, you're in these drugs for years, you know what you would need for help, but i think except the meds that the friends above mentioned, (and i would say that some poly-vitamins, maybe some DL-Phenylalanine, and stuff like these, any-fuckin-way..) The Most Important is God.
I wish you luck and power, from my heart friend, i mean it...Stay safe and strong..

yeah, i've got to say, if you like weed, it's going to help a ton with the anxiety. benzos are obviously going to help you sleep if you can get a script for them. immodium helps with...actually i'm not sure what it helps with but i know i'd rather be withdrawing with immodium than without it. tramadol also helps out in my opinion, but some people think that's still using opiates so eh, to each his own.

edit: oh...and the obvious, bupe.

the doctor who prescribes me suboxone tests me too and could care less about weed.

I realize that at this point you have a choice since you've run out....BUT, if it gets too bad and you decide to taper, would your Dr be willing to allow your patches to be filled a few days early? If I read correctly, you are a week short?
I definitely understand why you want to stop and totally respect it. Maybe you won't have that hard a time with this. If that ends up not being the case, however, I suggest speaking with your Dr openly about what you're trying to do. There's nothing wrong with deciding you'd like to try dealing with your pain by means other than opiates...
I have a feeling your Dr would feel the same way I do, and respect you for what you're trying to do.
I guess my point is, Don't be hard on yourself if you find going cold turkey to be too difficult. If you can do it, great! Just keep your options open. BTW, I'm on 100mcg as well. Best of luck :)

I'm in VA and with a high clearance I can only be on rx legally. I'm a week short but the doctors in VA are the worst in the world and do not care about it. I'm going today to talk with him and let him know what's going on. This is real bad im sick and throwing up bial cause i have no desire to eat. I have the worms and restlessness If I could get anything i would take it.

BadBack, I'm glad to hear of your decision. I had an idea (like other members did) that the withdraws from such a strong drug may be too painful for one to handle alone. My prediction is, if your MD is supportive of your intent to get off opiates/opioids, you will be tapered.
Hopefully (if he or she feels it will help) you will get some clonadine (sp?) as well.
There are very strong opinions on this both ways, but maybe you'll even receive some sort of benzo.
BTW, If you're comfortable saying, what area of VA are you from? I'm not far from you.
Please post as soon as you're able to let us know what your Doctor had to say.

I was given 15 Lorazepamfrom my primary going later to pm dr. I'm about 20 minutes from Fredericksburg.

Cool! I know the area well.
Let us know how the Lorazepam helps. Are you seeing your pain management doc today?
Again, please post again soon to let us know how you're feeling, what has helped you, etc...
In addition to being concerned, the info could very well help others out too! good luck with your appointment later:)

came off 150mg methadone a day deal using fenobarbital. shit fucking suckd, i wish u the best.

Well i did not get any more patchs the Dr said it's going to be hell for me if it becomes to much to call him. I know he would never move me to 50 then 25. I did get clonidine sp and more ativan. I alao handed in my post dated scripts totaling 30 75mg patchs. I cant do it with it available in another week.

So proud of you. Seriously. So was the reason you didn't get any more patches bc you want to try cold turkey (with the help of the meds he gave you ),or did your MD feel uncomfortable giving you anymore?
You are a strong person, even being able to go through it for this long. I applaud you, regardless of how it turns out.
