I'm wanting to go on a hardcore all-liquid diet and was wondering whether it would be a good idea to have a day or two or three of pure glutony before hand to spead up my metabolism...

Metabolism is my biggest contender when it comes to me losing weight. so I thought I'd ask...

edit: Ifanyone's curious I'm doing slim fast and ensure...

And regardless of what ya'll answer, I'll for sure beat least binging one day to enjoy the food I won't be able to enjoy...

If you are trying to lose weight, gluttony seems like a bad choice.
I also wonder if an all-liquid diet would help in the long run.
Instead, you might want to work on moderation.
If you eat 3 small, healthy meals a day plus 1-2 small, healthy snacks (e.g. fruit and nuts), you will probably not only lose weight but also keep it off, and get healthier to boot.

All liquid seems like a bad idea. You need fiber, lots of it. Ditto bingeing. If you feel the need to binge to "enjoy the food that you won't be able to enjoy", you're going too far too fast. Small, incremental changes, that last longer than 3 months will hold you in far better stead.

Intermittent fasting (i.e. only eating for 8 hours out of the day) combined with a clean(ish) mostly-vegan diet and HIIT are working well for me so far. Only about 2 weeks in, though.

right.

WHY!?!??! Why all liquid?!

Also the day of pure gluttony will not speed up your metabolism at all - in fact that could all easily make you very ill. Loads of undigested toxins, then an unsupervised liquid fast. Greaat idea - go to a health professional.

Nothing wrong with a liquid fast - you could go on apples, fruit juice and water for a week, before slowly introducing foods back to your system over a 10-14 day period. Look up food combining (/trophology) instead of potentially ruining your digestive system for years to come because you have no idea what you're doing.

Abstinence is OK for a while...but finding balance is the ideal state. Balance - don't binge, don't become excessive in habits (in fact get rid of any bad eating/dieting habits).

at best, you'll have a rocky detox...followed by god knows what, if you carry on unsupervised!

The days of gluttony will only make you feel like (and produce a lot of) shit. Go ahead if you're going to do an all-liquid fast. It's good for the body. Just listen if you feel faint or too weak. Break the fast if you faint. Don't do it for too long, though. Is this your first time?

Life begins at the edge of the comfort zone. Discipline can make you the most powerful man/woman on Earth. When we obey our impulses all of the time, when we know it is not in our best interests to do so, we give up control of our lives and end up living with regrets. Just make the change you want to make, in as informed manner as you can, and the feeling of having something to look back on will strongly outweigh whatever giving into the craving could offer.

I hope for half or naked pics in any thread when I see his name.

To the OP, this "hardcore" liquid diet is a bad idea for weight loss. Pigging out prior to starvation is not going to speed up your metabolism.

Eat well and exercise consistently. I find treating my body with the respect it deserves quite enjoyable. This attitude also allow me to eat pizza and drink beer.

Balance is key.

Those are my faves which I have every week. Nothing is off limits for me. I don't think of food as good and bad.
I eat well most of the time and that works for me.
