How to reduce anxiety on the come up?

Well, I definitely wouldn't take anything on top of the MDMA to ease the come up. I think the only thing you can really do is remember that it'll pass and make sure you take slow, deep breathes, breath through it. Maybe try to talk with friends, watch something, etc to distract yourself? I don't think anything will make much of a difference though. Honestly, if you have a history of panic attacks and anxiety, and typically have bad anxiety while coming up, it's probably not the wisest decision to use MDMA. It could make your anxiety a lot worse in the long run and you also have a high potential of possibly having a full out panic attack on it... and that would suck a lot. Be careful... <3

please do not mix ANY other drugs with with MDMA except some weed and maybe a LITTLE booze. its not worth risking your health and your roll. just a bit of weed is all you need.

Bullshit... How about psychedelics? Are you saying that mixing MDMA with LSD isn't safe? Or with mushrooms? Or 2c-b? I'm sorry, but not all loves your precious weed.

I find smoking a bowl or 2 helps with the anxiety, but mostly just not thinking about it. Distract yourself away from the thought that you're waiting for it to kick in. Dance, talk, do whatever, just don't think about it. Trust me, it helps.

This is a common question - what is causing the anxiety in the first place? Set and setting should be the first thing you address - then maybe have a joint, a few drinks or just forget about it as you know that once you come up the anxiety will vanish. I have linked you to the directory where you can see some of the older replies etc.

I'd have to say that for me getting into the music and shakin'a tail feather seems to do the trick. In some cases I would drink a few beers as this acts as a cns depressant which lowers respiratory rate; but bear in mind that it's also a diuretic and can lead to exhaustion and dehydration if consumed in excess so take precautionary measures and start with a couple for the first experience.

On to the meat of the subject, I think generalized anxiety is quite normal for the novice and veteran, to which degree would bemthe only difference. An experienced user may not be anxious in the slightest because he/she knows what's in store. Keep in mind that not all anxiety is bad, some people might confuse anxiety with excitement which are separated by a very thin line. That is unless you have diagnosed heart problems, in which case taking mdma is gambling to begin with.

In conclusion, be careful when trying to find an easy way out of an experience. It's part of the process and we all pay our dues, it's a small price to pay for a good time. Cheers.

Agreed... especially considering mixing MDMA and alcohol is actually potentially dangerous, far more dangerous than mixing MDMA with LSD and most other psychedelics.

It's a funny old world. These posts about panic attacks while coming up remind me of the paranoia we used to experience when we smoked joints together back in sixties.
It wasn't the drug causing the paranoia at all though, it was the awareness of the transgression and the stiff penalties we would face if we were caught.
At first this awareness was in itself a kick, but after a while a sort of Pavlovian association was built up.
Getting high on weed = paranoia
Eventually I stopped using weed because of the paranoia.
As for me E had no associations for me I never experienced a panic attack on it. And by now with a long history of pleasant associations I don't think that a panic attack is likely.
Interesting to me is that I now find that I have been able to wind back the paranoia/panic attacks experienced with weed in the past, by smoking weed on the comedown from E.
So I think that Bearlove's comment is rather relevant.
If E is your first illegal drug you might have built yourself a pattern of expectation that sets off the panic reaction.
The way out of this is to find a way of experiencing the drug that short circuits these expectations.

I used to play competitive tennis and my coach taught me 'centering' - a breathing technique to help relax. I've found it useful if i'm feeling anxious/scared/cannot sleep, in particular reducing weed anxiety which hits me hard.

Basically take a deep breath in through your nose then exhale out your mouth, ensuring that your stomach is contracting each breathe. The more you practice it, the quicker you can elicit a relaxed state - I can get relaxed in a few deep breathes now and i've read some athletes can relax in one 'centred' breath.

A possible solution to reduce anxiety on the come-up, it really does chill you out and its simple.

I was under the impression that psycs were safe to mix with just about anything. Shrooms,LSD and the likes mix well with each other and I especially like them with benzos. Mixing amphetamines with opiates is a different story. Unfortunetly I dont enjoy smoking weed either so I rarely mix.

I'm the opposite.. day to day I'm anxious and OCD, but very relaxed and care free person once I'm off my rocker. it's interesting how drugs work differently on all of us :)

yeah my bad i didnt mean LSD or shrooms. that seems to be fairly safe as far as mixing drugs goes. i stand corrected. but weed does help me.

yes. while it seems that the effects of drugs are generally the same for the most part, some people have some abnormal side effects from them. it just goes to show the complexity of the human brain and how everyones works a little different. the complexity of the human brain is still kind of mysterious.
