i ran out of opiates friday night. saturday i felt fine with just a little neck pain. last night i tossed and turned in my sleep. i woke up today with back pain, neck pain, stomach pain, foot pain, leg pain. im just slightly discomforted all over. ive never had a withdrawal before, could this be it?

Absolutely. You can expect it to get progressively worse until it peaks in another 2-3 days.

Drink plenty of fluids. Take some Imodium for diarrhea if it occurs. Eat small meals or snacks and take some vitamins. Also try excersizing like walking or swimming to help release your own natural endorphins.

Sure sounds like it Sludge. Pretty classic symptoms anyways. Which opiate were you using and how long was your run? That will likely have a bearing on when withdrawal will peak. If it was a short run it might be you're about as bad as you're likely to get already depending what you were taking.

yup wd it is. bit of advice since u didn't know if u had some wd there. stop using opiates!! Soon ur wds will be so bad u wont need to go on the net and ask lol

Wow..i remember figuring out the first time i was in w/d..
for a smart girl...i wasn't really at all...
get some immodium..aleve or ibuprofen...dxm....hot showers/baths..benedryl or that other one i always forget..doxylamine, i think.....to help with sleep.
search here on bl for opiate w/d..everything you need to help feel a little better is in there.
nothing's gonna make it go away except time...

good thoughts your way :)

is really the deal. immodium has been the only useful thing for me, as i really can't work having a 20 second warning of a massive explosive shit. you can take other stuff like benzo's, weed, NSAIDs, lesser opiates, but you just can't shake that icky sluggish shitty malaise with anything except time.

I agree with everything but the diphenhydramine, in opiate wd's it makes my legs so restless they actually hurt. Its so bad that i would rather suffer the insomnia.

depends on what kind of habit your stopping to figure out how long/intense it will be. Weed and benzos can really help if you have access to that.

yea i pretty much thought it was. this shit is starting to suck, and i hope it doesnt get worse but it probably will. ive been on a 2 week bender and got up to a 70mg hydrocodone tolerance. i just sat in a pool all day and felt disoriented and didnt want people talking to me. i got out of the pool about a half hour ago and the neck pain and all that shit is starting to come back. man....

Besides what's been said take plenty of hot showers/baths. Also masturbation will give you 1-2 minutes of relief upon climax as your body releases endorphins. IDK about anyone else but I masturbate plenty when im w/ding from opiates.

LOL, yup, furiously. No real pleasure in it apart from the momentary relief, like you say. Spontaneous orgasms waking you up when you've finally managed to nod off after days with no sleep suck bigtime though. ;)

Hopefully it'll serve as a warning Sludge. You think it's unpleasant now you probably don't wanna find out how it feels after a few months of use. Symptoms tend to get worse every time you go through withdrawal, use again, withdrawal cycles. It's called kindling and true for most users I think. You'll also find addiction and tolerance re-establish themselves all the faster once you've had a habit, days rather then weeks. Best to quit now before you're any further down this particular road than you've already gone.

Good news is two weeks use isn't a long time and I doubt what you're feeling now will get much worse and you should be back to normal pretty quick.

+1

days 2 and 3 are worst..and you're habit was small...just enough to give you w/d! Just know..it feels shitty now..but just like sepher said...at least you know it's not gonna get worse..keep drinking water...and you'll be back to normal soon enough. Aleve/Advil...trust me, i wouldn't wanna hear it either..
in some ways you lucked out this time..
you didn't know it was coming ahead of time....

ok yea im definitely taking this as a sign. i just love the shit so much. also is it a smart thing to exercise intensely during a withdrawal? im extremely athletic and run 4 miles a day and weightlift every other day, on and off of the pills. Would this be ok endorphin rush wise or will it just overexert my already hurting body

I haven't noticed kindling through all my times withdrawing...I thought it was specific to SSRI's and Benzo withdrawal. No?

your doing the right thing. take this as a sign. well think of it more like a cliff man. your at the edge. do you want to jump off into the depths of opiate addiction? or just turn around and walk back? you seem smart enough to know whats going on. walk back. also on a side note , you shouldn't be taking 70mg of hydro at one time. just not healthy on the liver.be good.

Nope, with opioids the more times you have used and/or been dependent in the past the more severe and longer the withdrawals get and the more easily you develop a tolerance and dependence.
