Going to a club to roll alone.

Hey there. I have rolled alone a few times, on the beach in the sun or in my room but I've never gone to a club alone, let alone going to a club to roll alone. I've been to clubs with friends and lost them and spent entire 4 hour rolls alone but it doesn't seem weird then. I'm talking about leaving your house alone and hitting up a super club with some good MD just to dance among the crowd. What do you think? Would ever consider it?

Done it many times man, good experiences. usually end up making friends with half the people there by the end of the night anyway.

Possibly more fun then going with people you know...you are free to meet new people. You can do meet someone super hot and hook up with them without worrieng about ditching your friends.

Yup - if you are at a cool party -- everyone is your friend by the time you leave. Hope the music is good!

This and the fact you can just go around and make new friends... I wish my friends wouldn't have that stereotypical view on drugs... I really enjoy going alone sometimes... you are free and you can hook up with girls that are into the scene.

Ive been clubbing and to raves alone and had some amazing times (I actually used to prefer raving alone that going with friends). When you go alone you don't have to worry about your friends (not in a selfish way) but your free to do what you want / when you want. I also found that your more likely to start chatting with a lot of new people when your alone than you would if your with a group of friends. The thing I hate when going to a rave / large event with friends is when you get separated!

This, rolling alone is amazing to make new friends and meet new people, or even hook up with a rave chick if it's your lucky day. I've rolled alone and to be honest, it was one of the best experiences I had. I agree you are much more chatty and keep move around joining random groups or people or a girl with his bf like it's nothing lol.

Friends usually makes you wanna stick with them and it's hard to ditch them so you aren't that social with strangers than you would be if you want out alone.

ill go one better and say the thing i *really* hate is when you go with a group and spend the whole time playing "where did so-and-so go..." and trying to coordinate the group... like going out with 2-4 people is manageable but once it gets above that i stop bothering with even trying...

n yeah i love just walking around without worrying about everyone else... problem is my GF *hates* it...

GF hates what?

Often wondered about this, sometimes an event will be on and I can't get the clubbin posse together for whatever reason - this isn't unusual if it's a Friday night and people I hang with can all work Saturdays fairly regular.

Would feel utterly weird going and standing in the queue myself - esp now as when we go clubbin we all stick together. Sadly the clubs in my city aren't as friendly as they used to be and you will go all night without talking to anyone except the odd freak who will approach you full of drugs. 90% guys in clubs, women just ignore all men it seems lolz but then the male clubbers act like dicks with the girls.

90s we did as was said in above thread - go together then not see eachother for 4 hours. However, now we all hang together then afterparty, so going out rollin alone would be plain weird...I'd like it not to be weird as I would like the option to go solo if a good DJ was on..

oh sorry.. should have explained better... so me rolling generally involves me walking around in full pimp mode like 20 steps ahead of my GF (and thats if i even remember that she is out with me...) we live together so going out for me is a chance to hang out with my friends and talk to them...(theres only so much you can say to your significant other after 10 years together lol...) anyway this has become the subject of endless fighting... she yells that i wanna fuck all these other girls (nevermind the fact that im always with her otherwise) and that i dont care if other guys hit on her, etc... at the last big festival we went to i wandered around the crowd for like an hour just checking out the awesomeness of it all and she was sooo pissed when i got back that i had to spend the next 30 min talking her out of walking home...

so yeah... she *hates* it...

idk... i get what ur saying but i can actually do pretty good by myself (although in all fairness i do know lots of people out at clubs so even if i wasnt with anyone i woudl still run into 10-20 people that i dont know... ) but yea guys in general dont have much swag nowadays and it creates a problem for all of us guys because we get lumped in with them... girls are totally on their guard because of the creepy way i see even young guys acting when they try to pick up a girl...

like what ever happened to just smiling at girls... that still works great...

Yeah I also hate big groups, in any case. The 'where is so-and-so' issue is ever so common and is annoying because it is always in the back of my mind that my friend is present but not with me. I think going alone would allow me a much more free clubbing experience.

Yep, sounds like a wonderful idea. Only word of caution I would offer concerns the type of club. In the UK, if you're going to a trance or psy night, most people will be rolling and everyone looks out for each other. However, from my experience, this is less the case for d'n'b or dubstep nights.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll have a blast. Dancing, chatting, looking at all the pretty peoples. Oh how I miss MD.

Jesus, i'd have told her to stfu and stay home next time. Probably why i'm single and you have a gf of 10 years tho. ;)

I think the above posts have backed me up - go to the rave alone, it really liberating and refreshing to know that you know nobody! I personally would rave alone!

Does concern me, I'd probably have been more OK in the 90s with this as people were just friendlier - now when you smile at a girl you just get a blank stare....same club, 90s girls would be smiling at your with their BFs beside them!
