Trouble tripping

I've had trouble tripping, nothing works, mushrooms, lsd, dxm, I feel the physical but vie never noticed any perception difference. I experienced no delerium from 900mg Of diphenhydramine (don't do this very dangerous) with no tolerance. I just felt like hit. The only thing I have EVER gotten visuals from was lexapro, I had a thread about that before, the link is : http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/threads/...ens-barfing-rainbows.?p=10556387#post10556387 , nothing else has ever made me have visuals or anything, any advice on why this is ?

Muscle relaxants ? sleeping pills ? There are a lot of medications that can stop a trip, serotonin chemistry is weird at the best of times.

Ssri

Ivw only ever actuallly been able to trip on ssris's as indicted by the link I provided. As since then any ssri sounds lik a LSD trip at people describe to me, but it doesn't work. But I will hallucinate sometimes without drugs...

Why do you want to trip on LSD or Mushrooms ?, what are you expecting to happen ?, that's a serious question.

Hmmmm, well LSD or Mr Shroom is not going to be the right thing for you anyway then, unless you want to skate on the edges, which is fine, just realise there may be no forward escape for a few hours/years, how together is your mind normally. Not putting you down just trying to save you from a potentially really bad experience bro.

Your in the right place to work this out though, PM me if you want.

Yeah buzz, as webbykevin says, mushrooms and LSD are really not for getting away from your problems. They're much more likely to bring you to an intense confrontation with your problems, and if you don't want to deal with it, you will have a horrible time. On that note it's probably a good thing you're not getting the proper effects.

There is the occasional thread here of people complaining they don't get any real effects, no matter how much they take or of what. Sorry, it happens sometimes. The human mind is strange and we don't know much about it, and we know even less about psychedelic substances. I recommend you leave it for a couple of years, until you're in a better place, and see if it works then. Or if you decide to use them to actually tackle your problems head-on, consider trying mescaline instead. Being that it's a phenethylamine compound, unlike LSD and mushrooms, you just might have a better chance with it.

I never thought of that but that is actually great advice for many reasons, Maybe the OP has just been knocking on the wrong door to hyperspace for him, I'm just trying to reduce a possible meltdown, I'm pretty sane and stable imo and I have 30 years psychedelic use and hundreds of high dose experiences behind me and within the last 24 hours I managed to scare myself silly and back myself into and then out of a mental corner with just plain old acid, so it's fresh in my mind right now how wrong it can go.

The one thing I didn't need last night was any shit I was afraid of looking at cos there was nowhere to run.

Thanks for the great advice guys, we truly know almost nothing about the mind, and eVen less about psychedelics effects on the mind. I've taken enormous doses of many psychedelics, people who are bigger than me have ended up rolling on the floor freaking out about aliens when I'm just sitting there with big pupils and strange thoughts or visuals or anything. It is strange that an ssri is the only thing to ever make me trip though.... In fact it was less like 2d hallucinations and more like 3d. So very much real, especially when a marble staircase flung itself at me. I am just having a really hard time, in fact I am a lightweight to almost every drug, no exceptions, no matter how many times I've used it.

If there is no medical reason, do as Morpheus suggested:

You have to let it all go, Neo. Fear, doubt and disbelief.

Because I don't feel like dealing with things right now.

Psychedelics are definitely not the answer for that, and I'm not just giving you the typical "Don't use drugs to escape!" speech, but speaking from experience as someone who at one point did exactly that, and with psychedelics, I can tell you that if you go in there to try to escape, the psychedelics could easily (and often do) bring all of your problems to the forefront of your experience and leave you with a horrible experience.

If you're looking to use psychedelics for healing purposes and to help you move on from whatever it is you're dealing with, I'd recommend you start making progress in your life with these problems first before you look to the substances, and once you're on the right track, a guided trip with a close friend can be very therapeutic and helpful :)

You say you only ever "tripped" when taking an SSRI, but you still haven't answered on if you are prescribed any medication? SSRIs are known to dramatically reduce and often entirely kill trips in most users, and various other drugs like anti-psychotics can have a similar effect.

I am prescribed but I don't take it. I am prescribed lexapro, and 20mg made me trip out, in a way reminiscent from a high dose acid trip from what I've read. Except much more 3-D. Voices music everything moving, Teddy bears guitars cars floating in the air. All from 20mg of escatilopram (lexapro) an ssri.... For some reason nothing is working. All those hallucinogens, he'll I've even tried datura to no effect except feeling like ive been poisoned.

You mean to say you don't take the Lexapro any more, or you don't take any other SSRIs? Because Lexapro, like other SSRIs, can reduce or even sometimes completely block the effects of psychedelics. As can anti-psychotics.

Also which psychedelics have you tried? The only drugs you've confirmed trying are lexapro, an SSRI, diphenhydramine, a deliriant, and datura, another deliriant - and in my experience deliriants are rather random in their effects, sometimes you'll see people that aren't there - other times you'll experience no visuals at all. The only one effect they always held for me that happened every time was that it was much easier to sleep and I had very vivid memorable dreams.

Also, taking drugs to escape and then taking deliriants is like the worst combo ever. Deliriants don't make you feel happy or better, and won't mask any of your life problems, instead they will likely scare you and make you feel bad, and also potentially put you in danger.

Edit: Ignore the first part of that middle bit, I was sleep deprived when I posted and totally missed the first part of your post again. :p

Try 4-AcO-DMT. I'd be shocked if anybody had trouble getting their noggin blown by that chemical.

Are you schizophrenic per chance?

I had a friend who was, who was eating lots of acid and claiming it never had any effect, which is why he ate so much of it.
He then went on a sliding slope of madness for many years, with many worsening schizophrenia symptoms. In fact if you have any serotonin related mental illness, I would probably avoid tryptamines altogether.

Family has a history of schizophrenia, I have since tried many other psychedelics, and any serotonin related psychedelics simply do not do it for me, I get nothing. I've since beaten all my problems. It has literally taken 2 grams of diphenhydramine (with an ungodly tolerance and a family liver history of alcoholics who have never even had liver damage) for me to even see anything. It was ungodly stupid of me for taking that much. It took days to feel all there. The only true thing that has worked for me and hallucinations is amphetamine, opiates, weed. Namely, every single thing that has a high effect on dopamine. Even 2 cigarettes can have me seeing bugs and feeling their bites

Yep. Definitely Dopamine. Amphentamine, opiates, weed, anything with its main function through dopamine. Hallucinate a lot on them all, even if I've been up for only 20 hours and am on 15 mg of dextroamphetamine. Things will twist and distort, I find patterns in everything I look out, the most bland rock becomes covered with identifiable pictures I have already seen before at one point in my life (it may change into others if I look at it too long). Hearing my mother (I don't live with her) call my voice from up the stairs in a phantom voice, or hearing her whisper my name, and realizing it is just the faucet. I am always thought as an extremely off individual by all who I meet, though ussually interesting. I have trouble speaking, sometimes becoming incoherent, putting verbs or ajectives in the wrong place while speaking. People have had a hard time understanding me recently. Sounds like a definite underlying problem instead of the drugs.

Other times when I speak I won't seem to get to the point, and my reasoning is unusual (though it is a reasoning that allows me to see into the real motives of people, and I almost always end up close to the truth).
