You can get 3G kindles so I doubt it would be much of a stretch to turn it into a phone, although you would have to get the hardware inside it like a mic and also you would have to get a software engineer to update the kindle software to contain a smartphone OS, it is a harder job than it first sounds, IMO anyway.

Everything is packed tightly into most devices nowadays. I think it would be tricky to do this without a fairly sophisticated setup.

My laptop has "phone technology" built in - a GSM modem. I think you can run skype on an iPod Touch.

Yeah, I don't think it would be childs play, but it's worth it when you consider how much prisoners obviously want phones. Hence the reason people are so happy to fit as many as possible up their bums.

Yeah no space is wasted. I reckon the most difficult thing to get in there would be the battery.
 
Someone walking about with a phone charger and two phones up his arse? Some things are just not worth it.

An apple usb style charger wouldn't be so bad but an actual 3 prong plug?

Someone should just design a suppository shaped phone for these guys in jail.

This is BL, no plans are ever going to be put into action lol. But yeah, they're allowed radios, mp3 players etc. I don't think they'd say you can't have a kindle.
 
I guess that once they have removed the phone from their backside they could always pass the time by playing Angry Turds.
 
I suppose the modern equivalent would be an iPhone Revolver. Go figure that one out.

I don't think they're allowed radios etc that they've bought outside the prison though. Are they not just given these things as privileges?
