Alcohol and body building question

Once a week is fine. Dont drink on workout days / day after. After drinkin that night have bout 2 bottles of water w/ some casein and you should be good
 
Im 45. I still use test from time to time cause at 45 you do feel that it's lower. Although, because of 19 years of working out on and off steroids, on top of working out since I was 12, when I stop working out altogether I maintain pretty good size (6'2" and 235 off completely, 265 in top shape on. So, I started juice in 1992. When I went to law school from 1993-1996 I exploded. And I partied. A lot. Getti g married, having kids, moving to new cities, getting divorced, being busy with work, took off of working out and the juice many times, but it's my passion so I always returned. From some of my other posts on this board you know I had gyno which I had removed by surgery in 2007. Best decision in my life. They say using marijuana can help cause gyno - and I smoked everyday in law school. But back on point, check out a picture of me from 2001 - my avatar when I was a member of steroid.com. If you want to see the effects of drinking while on the juice, go there,into the forums, and search for "juiceon" my handle there. Click on one of the hits and see one of my posts, and that's me in the avatar, gyno and all. I won't advocate drinking while on a cycle, but if you do, if everything else is in place, it won't make that much of a difference.
I'm not insulting your credentials, just saying that your gains would have been greater had alcohol never been a part of your diet. Your anecdotal evidence is no match for proven science.

Sadly, you're right about that last part. It probably won't make a big difference, but it still conveys the message that the person is not ready for gear due to their work ethic.

Everyone would have bodybuilder physiques, we wouldn't eat shit, we would conquer the stars and currently be seeding countless worlds with untold amounts of culture and genius.
I just see it as a place with less crime and degeneracy overall. Maybe the drug war isn't working out as well as the country had hoped, but legalizing drugs and practically promoting them is even worse. What they tried in GB is a perfect example. Crime went up like ten-fold and the new policy had to be rescinded immediately. I agree with the principles of education over scare tactics and promoting harm reduction but I see nothing but bad coming from decriminalizing any recreational drug other than Cannabis.

Once a week is not fine. I want to see what an excellent body abusing alcohol will get you, because getting drunk once a week is not ok given that you are an adult with responsibilities and not a college student. Even if you don't care about bodybuilding, I would argue that once a week, every week is still a decent sized load for your liver and kidneys to handle.

Weed is probably the least detrimental to gains, and even that isn't a good thing to be doing very often for a number of reasons including decreased REM sleep, cortisol spike, anti-androgen action, oxygen levels in the blood, etc.

Interesting reads. So marijuana might be why my arms aren't 1/2 inch larger. I'm performing at only 95% of my game! Even after all those squats in the curl rack...
 
theoretically, how damaging would having a few drinks once every 3 weeks be on the night before a rest day? Would it severely lower test levels or only for the next day? Reason I ask is because before I started pinning I was a heavy drinker, I was the one in my group of friends who got drunk and did stupid shit, the jester of the group you might say.
I don't plan on getting drunk but my friends would ask questions if I started growing and not drinking at the same time + I don't want anyone to know.

I was drinking heavily 3 times a week up until 3 weeks ago, I havnt touched a drop since and I don't plan on drinking within the next few weeks either. This is completely theoretical (for the moment until I get an answer anyway).

Would say - 4-5 pints of beer once every 3 weeks make a difference?
Do any of you drink occasionally on cycle?
 
maybe get drunk once every 2 months. so maybe getting drunk but not shitty once or twice per cycle. i've done two. would not recommend drinking along with orals by any means though. id rather take a stim tbh, but theyre both pretty bad.
 
I don't want to get drunk, I just enjoy a beer every now and then, and it helps me blend in with the crowd and makes it easier to pull the bitches being slightly more relaxed lol. I'm talking 4-5 beers perhaps once every 2-3 weeks. Would this be bad?

doesn't sound half bad, so long as you're not recovering while you have your drinks. treat it like a cheat meal, actually even less often than that, and you'll be fine.
 
I'm going to push my belief that all psychoactive substances should only be used once every 2 weeks to a month.

So far I feel a lot more energy and I feel like I have an increase in my senses (taste, smell etc.)
 
I don't know about serious body builders, but my ex was a fitness scientist and used to drink almost every night (only Vodka) and never had any hangovers or problems working out or anything. He was just a partyguy at the same time. Depends how strong your body is, I guess.

I drink to take a break from working out, I don't work out to take a break from drinking.
 
Some guys just like drinking/working out as much...they're not really interested in giving up either.
 
When it comes to bodybuilding though you have to make a choice. You are either going to drink, or you are going to bodybuild. There is no grey area especially when you are on cycle taking a few tabs of Halo, Clen, T3, or Dbol, and injecting Tren, etc...

Life is short, and we are hungry. I'm talking no setbacks whatsoever.
 
During workout or while we r doing body building we should avoid alcohol as we can,because unhealthy food,drinks with alcohol are quite dangerous for body building as well as for our routine physical and active live.We've to try use more and more energy drinks and juices rather than to use alcohol which damages us internally slowly.

Blanket statements like these make me laugh. With enough AAS people sitting on a couch for 6 weeks can gain more muscle than a guy busting his ass with no AAS in the same time frame.

Which is exactly why I respect a natural lifter 10 times more outside of the bodybuilding circuit.

Yes it will. Do some moderate drinking on Anadrol, Tren, and Test. Tell me how you feel in the morning.

If you don't workout on AAS and just sit around you are only going to put on couple pounds of muscle and the guy who works out naturally will end up putting on more.

In my opinion, people on steroids work out harder than the average steroid free gymrat. We have to deal with fatigue, side effects, keep track of every chemical and compound in our body, avoid recreational drugs, and adhere to very strict diets.
 
Drinking a few beers once every 3 weeks wont hurt your gains that much. Consuming alcohol while you're using steroids at the same time should be avoided at all costs however. I have seen people wreak havoc on their liver and body by combining booze and roids.
