Reducing Vasoconstriction

Hey guys, sorry if this has been discussed before I tried searching but my search isn't working for some reason. I was wondering if anyone had any tips to help reduce vasoconstriction on psych's. I tend to get it really bad, sometimes to the point of almost ruining my trip. I've had times where it felt like my bones were about to burst out of my fingertips because it hurt so bad. I was wondeering if drinking more water then usual would help, because maybe it would expand the blood vessels more and decrease the pain, but then I thought that would increase my blood volume and might make it hurt even more. If anyone has some suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Topical capsacin cream? Drinking more water won't do very much but it can't hurt either.

What psychedelics do you find this is a problem on? Some people just find that certain groups/classes of psychs don't "play well" with them.

Look into getting some cacao extract. Chocolate contains a vasodilator alkaloid called theobromine. I have a 25x cacao extract containing 22% theobromine and it works well for reducing or avoiding mild vasoconstriction.

Theobromine is also a mild stimulant similar to, but weaker than coffee.

Note: MAOIs and chocolate are contraindicated and results can be fatal. Cacao extract is not an option with any 2c-t-x compounds or any other psychs with MAOI activity.

what about ginko biloba extract? i find it works (mildly though) in certain cases for me....

also, i find a hot/warm shower/bath always calms my body on difficult body trips....

Another thing worth a mention - make sure you get enough niacin (vitamin B3) in your diet in the long term. Niacin can be found in most, but not all, B vitamin diet supplements. Maybe take a double dose on the day of the trip.

If it gets really bad, to the point of ruining your trip, drinking a couple of shots of liquor can't hurt. This may be a controversial viewpoint, however, IMO "clouding" the trip by getting slightly drunk (and alleviating the vasoconstriction) is preferable to freaking out over experiencing unpleasant sensations caused by vasoconstriction and not getting anything good out of the experience anyway. Beware of overdoing it though, it's easy to fail to notice that you are getting *too* drunk when tripping.

The theobromine suggestion above is good btw., get some pure cocoa powder or even just one of those chocolates with >90% cocoa content. Just make sure your dog does not eat the chocolate :)

A mug of hot chocolate with lots of cinnamon and chili powder works for me.

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone! I especially like the theobromine one, a cup of hot chocolate sounds like it would be wonderful while tripping and I think I actually have some cocoa extract just laying around. I'll make sure I'm getting enough niacin also. I can't really eat tpp much cinnamon or I'd try that.
I agree that booze can cloud a trip so I might try saving that in case the others don't work.
And Sekio, I tend to experience it on LSD, mushrooms, and 25i-nbome. I don't tend to get it on LSD very often but when it happens it is BAD. The reason I started this thread though is because I'm going to be trying LSA soon and from what I understand it can cause some pretty bad vasoconstriction and because I'm someone who tends to get it worse than others I wanted to see what I could do to combat it. So thanks for all the suggestions everybody I hope they work :)

man if you get uncomfortable vass on lsd and stuff, its gonna be a million times worse with lsa. So be prepared.

L-arginine did not produce significant relief for me though I had read it should have some potential.

If you do use theobromine make sure it is a powder extract because regular chocolate will only have around 2% theobromine so you would have to eat quite a lot of chocolate to achieve the vasodilation effects

I like vasoconstriction (MG seeds and amphetamines are the best). It makes my body feel stronger.

^^ The fuck? xD

I find simply rubbing the affected area will help with blood flow, effectively pushing the blood around. Though I've only ever had slight vaso constriction, never to the point where it's seriously hurt. Just mild irritation.

I've never experienced anything uncomfortable like the need to rub an area. It's actually a desired body high for me. Hope to try ephedra soon.

The pain to me sounds more like muscle tension/fatigue to me than vasoconstriction, as with vasoconstriction it tends to be the purple/black joints you notice long before you experience any form of pain - though it can feel a little uncomfortable and weird.

For muscle tension magnesium taken before your trip works wonders, just don't overdo the amount, you only need a little - and magnesium can speed up the absorption of various drugs so it's a good idea not to take a lot as then it'll be harder to accurately dose whichever substance you choose to use.

If it actually is vasoconstriction you're experiencing, a very small amount of alcohol can help significantly, while not clouding or noticeably affecting the trip. Weed is another great one and can have a dramatic effect on the vasoconstriction, but of course combining weed with psychedelics can cloud or potentiate the trip depending on the person, substance, and their tolerances - so be wary of that before trying it.

Also, keeping moving can of course improve the blood flow and lessen the symptoms, but if your issue is muscle tension it could possibly make the problem worse.

I asked a similar question here a few months ago about getting cold toes on mushrooms, I was told to wear some slippers. :)

I've heard phosphatyldylserine has useful vasodilation properties that I would look into. The only problem I found was that it was a tad pricey at times
