A British man is facing death by firing squad after being caught selling less than £300 of cannabis to an undercover police officer in the United Arab Emirates.

The 21-year-old man was sentenced to death alongside his 19-year-old Syrian accomplice in a court in the strict Muslim emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The two men, who have not been named, were caught selling 20 grams of marijuana with a street value of £262 to a detective posing as a customer.

To every reader who says they deserve it .. I hope your children make a mistake with something as irrelevant as canabis and you get the plaasure of watching them die in a far off land for something as meaningless as the beer you drink after work. Ironically with your attitudes, its actually quite likely theyll go that way in one form or another.

the fact that comment is highly rated says a lot about The Daily Mail readers

20 grams of good draw would most likely be worth less than £262 as well

I know it will never happen (and why it is not realistically even a favorable outcome) but on purely moral grounds, I would give anything to see the U.A.E. and it's citizen's enjoy the great ordeal of meeting the R.A.F. and R.N. if they decide to execute a British Subject for such a minor offense.

UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore are countries that I would never visit. At least in most other drug death penalty nation you could bribe your way out.

UAE looks all pretty and shit, but it's a cage made of gold IMO. Locals are pretty much bought off by the emirs so there's no push for change, and the foreigners who make up most the population, don't really have rights unless they're rich.

I'd feel bad for the guy, but it's not like these countries are low key about this shit.

He CHOSE to sell drugs in a country that puts you to death for it. Yeah it's shitty for him, but it's his own retarded mistake...

I DO feel a bit bad if im honest though
