I don't even understand why people still use it... As far as I know it's illegal now which means it's entered the black market... Where better drugs have been thriving for decades.
You would think but it's not always the case. I believe price may play a factor & in some cases preference definitely plays a role.
As I know some people that highly prefer for example MDPV to other illicit stimulants i.e. meth-amphetamine, cocaine, etc.
However, in my area at least a huge amount of usage is unintentional & in a lot of cases unknowing.
I am actually considering starting a thread on it to help HR if these practices are widespread outside of my own area.
What I'm referring to is the practice of selling RC's as other illicit substances.
For example as of late a large amount of people including those in the younger age range (Teen to early Twenties.)
are buying & consuming what they tell me is "Molly". I've not done or tested the products they're referring to btw.
But based on the responses I've gotten to duration of action, time of come up, ROA & the actions themselves do not indicate MDMA.
Or for that matter MDA, depending on what Molly normally refers to in your area. In mine it refers to "pure" MDMA or MDA.
The effects & pricing tend to indicate various RC stimulants "bath salts" as being the substances sold as "Molly".
Note that I have however consumed MDMA & MDA confirmed via testing plenty of times to compare the effects of this "Molly" to.
The same bastardization has occurred with powder Cocaine & it's base form Crack.
As people have realized that the MDPV normally sold as a salt can be converted to a base & rocked up.
As such a large portion of powder Cocaine & Crack rock has become "insert random bath salt" + -caine (i.e. lido).
Apparently it has a distinctive & to some unpleasant taste when smoked.
The same has once again also occurred with meth-amphetamine also often being instead "insert random bath salt."
Note when I say Bath Salt I'm referring to the RC stimulants. i.e. MDPV & friends.
Even Cannabis in my area does not remain completely untouched with cases of early harvests & pretty but weak buds being contaminated.
In this case it would be examples such as the one's above having synthetic's added to increase potency & price correspondingly.
I'm not touching on the psychedelics as much as I don't have many contacts in that scene as I don't usually partake.
However, based on what I've heard via word of mouth apparently RC's are also being sold as mimics of the classic psychedelics.
For example non-psychoactive mushrooms laced with 25i-NBOME & sold as Cubensis, etc.
Admittedly a lot of these substances have been cut regularly for a long period of time but only recently have bath salts entered the picture.
As opposed to being used as a cut; the active ingredient is in fact the "Bath Salt or RC" not the illicit substance it is sold as.
Sometimes other cuts are added because of the potency of the RC in question vs the potency of the illicit substance in question.
Also other cuts are often added to help mimic the substance they are trying to portray i.e. the -caine's added to cocaine mimics for numbing.
Other times cuts are added just for profit but that's always been done so doesn't really apply to this scenario.
Thus in my area anyway especially amongst younger or more inexperienced drug users many people are unwittingly using these "Bath Salts".
There is also a very very healthy market for the actual "Bath Salts" in this area as well. Be it from a head shop or street dealer.
As in this area MDPV in particular & other "Bath Salts" in general are also sold on the street & have a relatively large user base.
By user base I'm referring to those that prefer "Bath Salts" over other substances & buy MDPV or other salts as there drug of choice.
My main concern runs to those that are unwittingly using said RC's.
As like I said many are younger or inexperienced & thus more easily fooled.
They often have never consumed any substance other than cannabis or ethanol & are now experimenting with "Molly" thinking it's MDMA.
Or hell experimenting with Cocaine, whatever. In any case any precautions regarding said substance are now null & void if it is a mimic.
As such it appears to me that this is generating a large amount of incidents & a great increase in harm from substance use.
To make things clearer I'm located in the North-East portion of the USA & am curious as to if this mimicry & such have occurred elsewhere.
Please feel free to respond if you have any experience with this & your area.
As like I said I'm considering making a thread on the mimicry subject in an appropriate forum if the practice is widespread.
As such a thread could be used to point out differences, ways to tell mimics apart, etc. to help younger or inexperienced users avoid them.
If the practice is widespread I believe such a thread could have a large HR impact on that particular audience.
As it would appear in a lot of cases people are fooled simply due to ignorance.
Though I must admit without testing via kit, lab or guinea pig some of these mimics are almost impossible to distinguish from the real substance there imitating.
Anyways looking forward to hearing any thoughts from others regarding the matter.
Feel free to PM me regarding it or the creation of a thread in an appropriate forum regarding the topic.
Thanks in advance for any input & I apologize for my verbosity but I tend to ramble.
