Extreme Stress = Seizure?

I never used to have seizures when I was younger, but until recently where life has become a huge stressor due to how prone I am to PTSD, I have experienced a few seizure while being high. Ive been suffering from PTSD to PTSD my entire life, and these layers have made stress set it root on me. It never leaves my life, and it never gives me time to relax, because the "plants" just grow and grow like some kinda weed. Its come to a point where I seem to have developed a dissociative disorder with some random amnesia in it, and my short term memory is now nearly nonexistent due to how worked up my brain is.

So does anyone know if extreme stress combined with drug usage results in a higher risk for triggering a seizure? I know I suffered a complex seizure while being high on methedrone and heroin, where it made me walk around mindlessly, and I had an olfactory and absence seizure while on MDPV. And I also get these twitches very frequently all over my body, which may also be minor seizures.

Thanks

Certainly. I had my 1st complex seizure, during a week of high stress and low sleep. At the end of the week I went out and took ecstasy, and skipped a night of sleep. And then had a seizure the next day. The neurologist I saw wrote it off as a stress provoked seizure. However a few years later I had another seizure after a night out on ecstasy, and then I ended up having one every few weeks or so. I've been labelled as having a "low seizure threshold", so now I'm on medication.

I've found sleep to be the most important thing for me. And the culmative effect of insufficient sleep over multiple nights. If I get a good amount of sleep every night, I feel fine.

As far as I know, walking around mindlessly is a normal side effect after a complex seizure. When I've had seizures around people, there will often be a period of time where I don't know my name or whats going on, but then I will snap back into consciousness and I don't remember that blank period and I am almost back to normal.

I'm no expert, but from my understanding, ANYTHING that causes excess brain activity--from stimulant drugs to stress to rapidly flashing lights--can increase the likelihood of a seizure in people prone to them. Hope you find something to reduce your stress levels!

I find it weird how I suddenly got so prone to seizures though. But i'm quite sure all these research chems I tried messed with my brain. They are the culprit for all the mental anguish I am experiencing right now, after all.

I'm stressed by the slightest thing now days... Maybe it's got something to do with my autism diagnosis.

Mate we don't bump here. People will respond when they have something to say. Be patient. :)

I was reading one of my neurology books the other day and it explained how stress causes excitotoxicity (sp?) from the increase in glutamate levels.
