First off yes im sure this question is posted in the wrong section but i couldnt find one thatt seemed right but im just wondering why bluelights so damn up tight youd think for a drug site theyd be really relaxed and open to whatever but im constantly seein this threads been closed and stupid shit like that

Bluelight isn't a "drug" forum, it's harm reduction.. Which I'm sure you knew that after readin what Bluelight is all about and the rules..
OT, but if you're the crazy white boy as your user name says why are you tryin to be ghetto?
(sorry mods, my husband, yes he's black, wanted me to ask lol)

Yeah wow there, not sure what problems you've had but this site is a friendly place for friendly people.

If threads are closed then the moderator who closed them will always say that of you have any questions then drop them a PM.

BL has to tread a fine line, like BabyGurl said this site is for Hard Reduction its not a site for selling or acquiring drugs or information about how to so, maybe thats what you've seen I don't know. That's not to say you can;t talk about your drug use and experiences but just be careful not to incriminate yourself in doing so.

If a thread is opened in the wrong section its moved to the right one, I think you've either got the wrong expectations of what the site is about or not understood the reasons why a thread has been closed in which case just ask the moderator that did it and they will happily explain.

Stick about for a bit you might find you grow to like the place, personally I'd leave but I was hardwired in by force some time ago and haven't seen the light of day for an indeterminate period of time;)

Read the fucking rules and you won't have to worry about your threads being closed.

I actually agree with the OP, and some of these admins close threads for the stupidest shit. Like there is still a good discussion going on and i'm sure people will still contribute to the thread , then you see an admin saying i think we've got what we needed from this thread closed- Its like why not keep it open , does it make you feel like your doing something because you close threads?

I think like 1/10 threads that are closed are closed for the wrong reason, and mods cannot be perfect with every single time they close a thread. Many times the rules are broken by someone and the thread must be closed, regardless of a good discussion starting or not. I don't think people are "uptight" its just that they care about the integrity of a forum that's dedicated to harm reduction.

I'm going to move this over to Support, it's more appropriate for that forum :)

BDD > Support

The mods also say to PM them if you have any more questions of if you think that the thread should be re-opened. They may not say that every time, but it holds true for each thread closure. If you think it should, then PM them.

From the BL Support FAQ
My thread was closed and I don't know why!
Moderators are encouraged to make a post in each closed thread explaining why it was closed. If you know who closed your thread but you do not understand why, you can send them a polite PM (private message) asking why it was closed. If you do not know who closed it, you can PM any moderator of that forum. Being rude, aggressive, or accusatory does not get you answers, and will likely just cause more problems and make people less willing to help you, so just be nice, its easier on you and us. Moderators are not out to get you or close all your threads. I promise.

We have a system in place, so I suggest you use it.

Just so you know, I was the person that moderated your thread.

I did not close it.

It is in fact still open and sitting in Best of Bluelight where I moved it.

I think some people are pissed when they come on this site and it's not just thread after thread of people hooking each other up with drug dealer phone numbers and shit...haha.

Sorry folks, if that's how this site rolled it'd be shut down faster than you could say, "Fuck, I missed my shot."

I know I'm just a lowly greenlighter and I haven't been around long enough to say that I'm an expert on the subject, but I've been a lurker for a very long time and as stated above, it is blatantly obvious that this is not a hookup forum, it's a harm-reduction site. Honestly, all it takes to not have a thread closed is to read the rules before you post and be sure you adhere to them. All of the rules in place are there for a reason and I have never seen a thread closed that did not violate one of the rules.

Just because the website is centered around drug-related content does not mean it's a crazy free-for-all. I enjoy this place BECAUSE it is just the opposite of that. Every single rule in place has a good purpose and if you just stick to those you shouldn't have any problems. I am not trying to be offensive in any way, all I am saying is that if you post within the guidelines and find that you're still having issues, this probably isn't the best website for you.

Most of things we get complaints about being "uptight" on are issues that are vital for protecting the site and the members.

Sourcing: we cannot be in a situation where a user acquires drugs or paraphernalia through a link here only to injure or kill themselves, and anyone following links should be extremely wary for the same reasons.
Price discussion: Detracts from the focus of this site, which is safely using drugs, not acquiring drugs.
No Self-Incrimination: Is designed to ensure that you, the user, have continuos access to Harm-Reduction information as well as ensuring that we, Bluelight, are never shut down as part of LE efforts to catch criminals

I would be happy to address any more specific complaints you have.

A lot of the arguments I have seen go like this.
1. User thinks "Bluelight is here to make drug use safe"
2. User posts "I don't know how to get drugs safely, someone help"
3. post is locked
4. User complains to mods, "what the hell, I thought this was harm reduction"

Telling people the specifics of commiting felonies/misdemeanors is not in general harm reduction. Bluelight is not here to help you break the law and get away with it safely.

I seem to have some issues here to, I got shut out today on a "drug testing" question....I dont get it, I can give advice on how to shoot pills, smoke crack, but i cant ask a question about drug testing for a job??

We recently covered the drug testing issue here, so rather than repeat everything I said there I will just refer you to that link.

in my experience bluelight is actually very chill, they do have a liability issue though if you think bluelight is uptight check out some other forums where ppl have to write about thier pet ardvark that drank 'some really good water' and had a great reaction it gets to the point where you dont even get what thier saying anymore. Bluelight is king.

Bluelight is probably the best HR site out there. There isnt all that much competition though. Drug forums is probably the closest contender and is probably the go to place for more specific questions. Bluelight has the social.HR balance pitched just right however. Theres a sense that your part of some bleary eyed drug crazed movement ;)
