Based on effects, how can you determine the identity of sold "LSD"?

I'm not mentioning any sources, and we'll just say that I'm not getting it off the street or anything like that (I learned the hard way to not buy psychs from the street or from shady random people anywhere), but in a few weeks I might receive LSD-25, maybe. So, my question is...

...how can you tell if it's real? Obviously if it tastes like anything other than nothing, I've read, that means it's cut with something or has no LSD in it. If it tastes like nothing, it's either nothing, LSD, or some other option but what I'm asking is, how can you tell whether it's LSD or some other possibly similar psychedelic, judging by the trip/effects it has on you? What precisely should one expect, effects wise, to know whether they're tripping on LSD or something else? Preferably answers coming from people who tried LSD way back in the 60's, but others who think they've had real LSD could also answer I think.

Taste, duration, onset. While there is a difference in effects, it's basically impossible to really describe.

ah I see. Well in terms of visuals, changes in thought patterns, sense of euphoria etc., is there anything that could make you feel anything like LSD in replace of it, that could be used to "fool" people, in the same way that amphetamines and lidocaine are used to gyp people on cocaine?

there are alot of tryptamines and just psychadelics in general out there, that could be passed off as lsd to an unknowing user and they could have a good time, and a nice trip but it be a completely different chemical. the most tell tale signs i can suggest from my own experiences, would be when it hits you, things get wavy and you get a good energy. kind of like a really good clean mushroom trip except you have the energy to walk around, your not just melting into a couch. lsd will generally take from 30-60 minutes to come on all the way. it usually lasts 4-6 hours and the comedown is real smooth and you will be hungry when you mellow out and feel an afterglow. acid is one of my favorites, if its the good stuff, you can spend hours listening to music and not really getting anything done, just sitting in pure amazement and wonder.

i have found not to trust sugar cubes, you can fit a large dose on those, like a research chemical could be mixed into a solution and dropped on them. but blotter is so small if you trip off a tiny piece of paper, chances are it was lsd because there are only so many chemicals that would be active orally in such a small amount. however, i have gotten really dirty paper before that gave me the stomach farts all night with confusion, bloating and feeling posioned. thank god that hasnt happened since, but my advice if you score some cid... test a half hit to start out with. or at most just 1 hit. never ever double dose until you know its something your body and mind agree with. but if you try it and its quite enjoyable and matches some of the descriptions above, chances are you have the real deal.

Cool. I've heard (this is random) LSA feels similar to LSD in the mind/emotionally, even if not physically. Is there any truth to that?

I think it takes some experience with LSD to judge whether a drug is or isn't. I had done acid once when a guy sold me 2 "dipped tabs." The tabs were thicker and probably 1.5 times as large as normal acid tabs. I dropped them immediately and they tasted really bizarre. I didn't know that acid's supposed to taste like nothing so I went on my merry way assuming I was on acid. The tabs were thicker and probably 1.5 times as large as normal acid tabs. Looking back after much more time with the drug, I can see how the effects were different. The visuals were interesting, but not as stunningly beautiful as acid. The mental stimulation wasn't quite there and I didn't get the metallic sort of edge/ headache I normally get toward the end of the trip.
It was probably something in the DOx series. Definitely didn't taste like NBOMe. Acid is so subjective that it's hard to describe what to expect. My friend told me about dropping with a math student who didn't get much of the psychedelic patterning, but he experienced numbers in a totally different way. Keep blasting off and you'll understand.

LSD feels like nothing else in my opinion, it's such a distinct and one of a kind sensation that if you've experienced LSD before it's unmistakable.

But to try and answer your question, it should have no taste, onset should be around thirty to forty-five mins and you shouldn't really be able to stop smiling at all.

And there are similarities between LSA and LSD, I mean they are so similar of chemical and LSA is the precursor to LSD it's only fair. . . no that's fucking foolish changing a single atom on a molecule can completely change it's properties drastically. But from my experiences yes LSA and LSD have a few similar qualities.

ah, I see. Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to try LSD-25 without any active impurities someday, in quantities of 150 mics or more. The purpose of that would be pure curiosity and nothing else, unlike DMT which, when I finally recieve the naptha to do the extraction, will be intended to cause ego death, which for certain reasons I think is necessary for everyone to experience at some point(s) in their life.

And what are the similarities and differences in the feeling(s) and effects of LSA and LSD in your experience? If such a question can even be begun to be answered

Depends of the form you get it in... with Blotters its really just oral activity and duration (to set it apart from the NBOMe's and the DOx's).

So I take it that NBOMe's and DOx's are the most common active imposter drugs for LSD?

Indeed they are. Or dealers will just sell you blotter paper with no drugs in it at all. Like atara said before though...

We have a "no drug ID" policy on Bluelight for a reason. LSD (and the NBOMe and DOx series drugs) are all psychedelics, and psychedelics all do very different things to different people. That's part of what makes them psychedelic in the first place.

If you're unsure about what drug you've got, send it into a lab for testing.

Yap. The DOx's last 50-100% longer than LSD and the NBOMe's are pretty much inactive when swallowed.
Better yet, you get the Ehrlich reagent and at least you can be quite sure you got a substance from the ergoline family.

If they're on tabs then uv already narrowed it down, doX or Nbome maybe, look at duration n stuff? I find acid has a distinct taste bit like the taste from puttin a 9v battery on ya tongue

We don't encourage substance IDs here...some people say "if its bitter, its a spitter". But yes, the DOx series of drugs will last (generally) consistently longer than LSD does. However, high doses of LSD will have around the same duration as a lower dose of a DOx.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. Substance IDs are a slippery slope. I recommend reading the posting guidelines for PD.
