festival death due to " Benzo Fury" ?

No, but on the other hand legalisation would lead to many more almost killing themselves and there's no way stopping it.

No, in the case of diamorphine, people would know the purity, and if buying from a regulated outlet would receive safe dosage informatuon, depending on their opiate experiance etc...and safe means of administering the drug.

There would be FEWER deaths, at the moment a high purity batch doing the rounds kills people who are used to low purity gear, and so accidentally overdose when they get high purity gear. Without the fluctuations in purity, this won't happen

Wasn't really trying to be mysterious, just hadn't gotten around to it yet. And those problems with buying MXE, etc. are more local and won't really apply to everyone. But it's kind of hard to buy domestically when there are no one selling and ordering within the EU is always a risk, I think about 1/3 of shipments are opened, though they usually don't bother to prosecute for these type of drugs.

Anyway, I've obviously had some bad experiences as I'm trying to warn people about it. I'm just kind of the oppositeof paranoid and tend to err on the side of risk and mostly speaking to those who are the same way. I'm sure there are plenty who are very careful and always safe, and that is nice for them, but its not going to happen that way for everyone.

You were really confusing me for ages there. First you said you were being prosecuted for etizolam (which is legal in the uk), then you said the police were nice to you (which was even more surprising in the UK). It all makes perfect sense now I know you're from Norway. I can't believe the only way for you to get your drugs is basically by ordering them off the internet with a one in three chance that the police will find it and knock on your door! What a shit situation.

Re: the legality thing, no one is trying to say everything is going to be a bed of roses if drugs are legalised. People will die, people will get sick, and people will ruin their lives to get those drugs. It's just that all of these things will happen a lot less than they currently do, and the range of options open to us to solve these issues when everything is above board and there is no prison involved - and most importantly the government has the extra billions of pounds of revenue from it, are much greater too. The government currently needs to put a lot of money they make from alcohol and tobacco back into services for alcohol and tobacco users, because currently it only spends about a third of the tax it takes from those drugs on the users themselves.

I can see your taking a bit of a battering but you don't seem to be reading or responding to the points made regarding a change to the current system of selective prohibition.

This issue is IMO about 2 things, peoples right to make their own, informed choices, the overall impact on society.

How many people die across the world on a daily basis as part of the illegal trade in prohibited drugs ?

How many people are mugged on the streets due to drugs ?

How many people suffer the theft of property due to drugs ?

...........

I could go on but I think its clear the point I'm making, and I personally do not support the idea that "the law" should make me a criminal for choosing to take a drug that happens not to be on the "good" list.

I think it is inevitable that more people will choose to try substances that are currently illegal and that in some cases, just like with alcohol and tobacco they will run into problems and society will have to provide whatever care or medical treatment is appropriate, I really don't see any problem with that we do it now.

I'd like to understand your position and rationale for the current system of prohibition, I'm yet to hear a convincing argument but I'm always try to be open to new ideas .

Well, they don't usually bother with these small drugs. I think the main problem was I was ordering analogues of well known recreational drugs. Normally it will just be ceized and returned, they're not going to prosecute for ordering Gabapentin or Zopiclone as they're not commonly abused drugs.

I also had two shipments stopped in a row, and there was quite a lot of Etizolam. I know benzos (mostly Valium and Rohypnol) sell for £50 for a packet of ten here, so there was potentially some profit to make. I think the main thing that concerned them was if I was selling.

But it's not legal to import or distribute legal highs in all countries. Probably not in most of Western Europe. Mostly still in Eastern Europe, the UK, Holland.

I would personally like to see them legalised, like most here, especially as most of my problems with drugs are due to legal issues (though that might not last long if hard drugs were made legal and easily available). But outside from my personal perspective I can't really see how it would be for the greater good.

Too many roofies I'd say. Why would any legit human being take rohypnol anyway? Awful..

Nor have I. I've heard it's both useful for sleep and enjoyable as benzos go, but it doesn't quite live up to the reputation it's unfortunately acquired.

robbed a packet from my mates uncle many years ago, green little fuckers i think. would snap one in half after a nite on the pills n speed and it was lights out for a few hours.

had 2 in my wallet one nite when searched going into a club, was about to get a kicking from the bouncer when i told him i was after doing speed and double dropping two yokes.he took one for himself and let me into the club.

I don't use them. But I've tried them because they're available. It's the only fun benzo I've really tried. Even made a long, boring train journey seen short and fun. More intoxicating than other benzos, like Valium, that are just sedating. But it's just a benzo so what do you expect?

I think they come from Eastern Europe and aren't much available further west. They're definitely more alcohol like than other benzos, and just seem more like a recreational drug, but I bet that's just for the first few times or if you just use them occasionally. And to get them you need to be in the serious drug scene or buy them off the street and I'm not interested in that, just not worth that kind of risk.
