A 19-year-old man from Portobello, who is thought to have taken drugs, died on Saturday night after collapsing in the main area of the event. He was taken to Raigmore Hospital but failed to respond to treatment. Northern Constabulary said two other people, a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, were also being treated after taking so-called "legal highs".

The force said officers were making inquiries into a "legal high" substance known as Benzo Fury, which is believed may have been taken by those who are currently being treated in hospital.

There is no evidence that Alex got his supply there.

You'd think with this constant flurry of people dying / fucking themselves up on legal highs with mega retarded names. That people would think you know what, fuck this. And go do some proper drugs...

But no, BENZO FURRRYYY MAAATEE ¬_¬

It's strange how Benzo Fury has been around for nearly a couple of years, probably been used extensively at a number of festivals already, but only now, and at this particular festival, it suddenly becomes a cause of death and illness.

What is this "link" that police claim to have to the death? There was a lot of it about so they assumed that must be what was taken?

I guess more and more people will be buying 'legal' drugs that have been bagged up and or pressed into pills than ever now. Alot of longer term users might know the difference between them (from smell, taste and look), but some unsuspecting people may not. It's getting more and more scary.

Looks like the "link" has somehow escalated itself into a "fact". Here's the DM story.

  • Alex Heriot, 19, collapsed in the main area at the RockNess festival at Dores, on the shores of Loch Ness, on Saturday night
  • Before festival he had tweeted: 'To say I am excited for RockNess 2012 is an absolute understatement'
  • Two other festival goers believed to be friends of the dead teenager described as being in a ‘comfortable’ condition

A teenager died and two other festival-goers were hospitalised after apparently taking drugs at a Scottish music festival. Alex Heriot, 19, collapsed in the main area at the RockNess festival at Dores, on the shores of Loch Ness, on Saturday night. Mr Heriot, of Portobello, Edinburgh, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness but died in the early hours of yesterday.

Hours later, a 19-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old man, believed to be friends of the dead teenager, were taken to hospital. It is thought they may also have possibly taken the legal high Benzo Fury – a chemical available on the internet that police believe may be dangerous when taken with other substances or alcohol. The man and woman are described as being in a ‘comfortable’ condition.

There's a raid and a flurry of articles about this. It looks like Benzo Fury is about to go the same way as MXE.

A SHOP selling ‘legal highs’ has been raided by cops after the death of a teenager at the RockNess music festival.

Nine officers swooped on The Apothecary in Edinburgh yesterday afternoon.

They took photos of the inside of the shop — which calls itself “your local headshop” selling bongs, herbs and legal highs — and left with dozens of items, including bags and a sealed bucket marked “White Vein”.

Alex Heriot, 19, of Portobello in the city, collapsed on Saturday at the three-day music bash in Dores, Inverness-shire, after taking a chemical called Benzo Fury.

Over 100 people will have died today from the effects of alcohol.
Where are the inquiries? Where is the national alert, eh?

No, the dissociatives and empathogens that are implicated in the deaths of only a handful of people each year are the real killers. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife.
