Why is DXM being discussed on this forum at all, let alone so often?

OP you have a really bad attitude which is a proper downer man. you're going about this in the wrong way. You're going on about DXM being bad and saying that DMT is super great yet you've never even tried it, who are you to come around and preach when you don't even have much experience...!?

Just for the record DMT is my favourite drug of all time and i've not tried DXM due to not wishing to ingest dissociative powder in large amounts due to the amount of Ketamine which has damaged my stomach from snorting.

Advanced discussion of psychedelics and dissociatives

PD doesn't just cover psychedelics. It also covers dissociatives, and also deliriants (though for obvious reasons they're less popular).

Maybe the forum title "Hallucinogenic Drugs" would be more appropriate, but I don't think there's any reason to change it when it's accepted, in place, and everyone's used to it :)

It's not that I think DMT is super great (not that I've tried it), it's that..well..

Fair enough, I suppose, but on a side note, "psychedelic" is a really vague term, really.

Ever heard of an "opinion", Orangutan? Some people like DXM.

Exactly. Personally I didn't like DXM when I tried it, but I know people who love it, and I say props to them if they like it. There's no reason it SHOULDN'T be discussed if people are using it. We are a harm reduction forum after all, if people want answers we give them the answers they need to stay safe, and DXM is no exception.

But when people that are inexperienced with drugs in general read these forums, they see raves on DXM and the like, then try them and when they feel like a braindead zombie, they're disappointed..to say the absolute least. I wish they had sticky threads that glared at the reader on these forums with warnings about the commonly reported specific negative side effects of different specific drugs.

In other words, just making useless blanket statements like "drugs in general can have side effects" is not enough, in my humble opinion. There should be threads which explicitly have negative "trip reports" on specific drugs; something to warn inexperienced little teenagers who read these forums before they try something that will fuck them up or make them feel like shit.

Stop saying that most people will feel liek a brain dead zombie, everyone I know who tried DXM has loved it.

Heh. This is a funny thread. It's as if the OP is indignant that it wasn't easier and more convenient for him to know that only roughly 1/3rd of DXM users like it enough to do it again (I believe this is William White's estimation). Simply by trying DXM you're gambling to lose. I like it, BTW.

But some drugs are simply (such as Amanita Muscaria and DXM) much more poisonous than others, such as LSD-25 and DMT.

Really? 2 grams of DXM is probably not a fatal dose, whereas 2 grams of LSD would surely either kill or permanently fuck up your brain....=D

DXM is a fun hallucinogen that is common to use, and that's why it's discussed here. Obviously.

I enjoy DXM pretty well, doesn't just make me feel like a brain dead zombie.

in my experiance dxm has been the very essence of the word psychedelic but not every time
did you consider set&setting? for me almost every psychedelic/disociative substance i needed to have 2-3 trials until i understand how to use them properly
its like meditation - you know what it does and how it is done but it just dosent happen right away
