Does Vicodin give you MUSICAL APPRECIATION similar to Marijuana

Whenever I smoke weed I slip into a musical dreamland. Rappers who seemingly have no flow seem to ride the beat perfectly when I'm stoned.

However, I quit smoking about a week ago and don't plan to go back.

I have a big bottle of vicodin from a basketball accident I got about a year ago. I used to pop them in low doses when I was sick but never took enough to get high.

I plan to take around 15-20 mg tonight and see the effects.

I know the general agreement on the effects of vicodin is that it makes you sleepy, euphoric, and a numbing body high.

However, does it also slightly or greatly or have any effect on your perception of music or entertainment by any chance? I was just wondering this because I am planning to just chill out tonite, pop 15 mg worth (3 pills at 5 mg each) and watch some movies and listen to some music.

I am wondering if vicodin (hydrocodone) will enhance the experience?

Thank you.

Everyone's different bro, but it sounds like in your case when you get high it enhances your musical appreciation.

That's what I just said, bro.

Lol. I was asking if Vicodin gives you the same (or some sort, if at all) musical appreciation as Marijuana does as they are totally different drugs with different effects.

Opiates make me enjoy downtempo, lounge, and ambient music intensely, but it's not that they're making me appreciate the music, but rather that the music is complimenting my nod and opiate euphoria.

I find only psychedelics, like LSD and cannabis, can make me TRULY appreciate the music and hear things about it I would never notice in a sober mindstate... never done MDMA, though.

Anyone who truly clears their mind and focuses can appreciate music, sober or high, but psychedelics actually make sensory perception, like music, much more intense and novel.

^This.^

I also noticed that mushrooms will make me hear things in music I don't hear sober or they'll make music sound different to me.

When I used opiates I would enjoy listening to all sorts of music. Listening to the cure or early smashing pumpkins, and jazz were nice.

if ur into rap , hook that shit up . I listen to rap and rap myself , when on opiates music is just so nice , its the general euphoria that makes music sound better / makes u appreciate it more . Also i love writing raps when on opiates / stoned .

Absolutely not. You will hear different opinions on whether opiates enhance music or not. However, one thing is for sure. Assuming they do enhance music, they don't do it like weed.

For me, music on opiates isn't that much different from music sober. In fact, I think I actually prefer listening to music sober than opiated but there are definitely exceptions.

The following drugs enhance music like weed: Mushrooms, LSD, MDMA, DMT, etc most of the drugs in those classes. Drugs like ketamine and nitrous oxide also enhance music, but in a unique way. Finally, I find that alcohol and amphetamines also enhance the experience of listening to music (mostly by causing a stronger emotional response) but again, it is different.

Alcohol does not enhance music for me. Not even one bit. Everytime I'm drunk, and put on a pair of headphones, I end up taking them off within a few seconds.

With weed, I will put my headphones on, take them off and realize 2 hours have passed and I just went on a psychedelic trip. Music on weed is amazing.

This thread honestly is not even about cannabis. Even though your asking if it en experience is similar to a cannabis experience, its not suited for CD.

This thread is about hydrocodone....the topic would probably be best suited for Drug Culture though.

CD ------> DC

(lol CD-DC.....well, laugh)

Well you are definitely the exception. In case you haven't noticed, alcohol is frequently consumed at concerts and parties are known for featuring loud music. Alcohol and music go together like peanut butter and jelly. I think weed enhances music more and in a better way than alcohol, but they both can make music more pleasurable.
