Planning a therapy night...

I've been planning a night of rolling for therapeutic purposes for a while now, after I've had many awful things happen to me over the past couple years. I told my friend of my plan, and she wants to join in. We've had a year full of heartache and emotional torture. We've both had horrible ex-boyfriends that would threaten us and force us to isolate from everyone, so we're in desperate need of connection and intimacy.

We plan on dosing up and spending the entire night acting like little kids and playing with stupid toys and talking/hugging everything out. We both have done MDMA before, though this will be a slightly higher dose than our previous experiences of horribly cut rolls. So, we're in for a night of fun.

Anyways, I already have a couple things I plan on bringing:

- Disney movies in case we want to pop one on.
- Lots of excellent music.
- Art supplies. I made a joke about making a "best friends" collage, and we realized how brilliant of an idea that might be.
- Watercolors to paint on each other.
- Dollar store toys. Anything that's fuzzy, sticky, lights up, or has scratch-n-sniff.

What else should I add to the list? Because I want this to be a night filled with child-like wonder and amazement at the world. Don't care if it's something really stupid, it's getting added to the shopping list.

Also, anything that will help with the snuggling/massaging/cuddling that isn't Vicks would be nice. I'm not a fan of super-pungent smells when rolling, and Vicks is a bit too strong for me.
 
i think watching a movie is not the best for therapy. granted, you can get a lot of revelations and clarity with movies (especially disney movies xD)
i feel like heart to heart talking is best. focusing on each other. i feel like instrumental music would be best. post rock (this will destroy you & explosions in the sky) is my fave for rolling, then something chill when coming down, like some good ambient music (stars of the lid and brian eno).

i feel like something amazing for therapy would be to have mirrors. take a good look at yourself (literally). those magnifying mirrors would be pretty insane to look at too! xD
 
Oh I got tons of music planned out already. I have like 5 playlists on Spotify devoted to this evening, one for every kind of mood imaginable. I'm not picky about what I listen to when I'm rolling, but I don't know if she would prefer to dance around like crazy, or if she would want to just relax. Very prepared. :)

I've never had pure MDMA before. Every roll I've had has been cut to shit with god knows what. I know that what I have probably isn't pure, but it's damn close. Every different roll I've had, I've wanted to do something completely different than the last. I really wanted to watch movies the first time I rolled, but I demanded to watch movies with subtitles and forgot how to read halfway through the movie. That really fucked with my head.

So yeah, I have no idea what to expect this time around, haha.
 
Go outside and climb a tree. Breathe the air (really think about how it feels)
Run around in the rain (if possible. If hot and sunny--waterballoons blow my mind when rolling)
For some part of the roll, stop the music and have a moment of silence for all the shit you've been through, allow yourself to get sad. Then turn the music back on LOUD and get it all out; then move on with rolling faces splendiferously.
I personally really like to spend time outside while rolling. You can kinda feel the world. Toys might be fun but i suggest a childlike adventure.
 
Yeah, there will definitely be talking. But I worry about wasting a good roll. Though, even when I sat underneath the stairs for 4 hours and talking about TV shows, I still considered it one of the best rolls of all time.
 
Last time i rolled outside of the rave scene, i rolled at home with a friend of mine. We was talking and saying some deep stuff on it and me and him both agreed afterwards, that it helped to get stuff off our chests like that.

I can see where it can be used for Therapy.
Im not saying sit there and talk all your Roll lol, we watched Winamp visualizer and i put some euphoric trance on but half way through the night was when we started talking to each other.

I've done MDMA twice not outside on the `scene` and I have to admit it can be just as fun. Just chilling and going on night-time 2am adventures to the local 24/7 store is such a laugh. You really do notice how much it totally destroys your short term memory at the time though.
 
Would you be interested in giving each other back rubs?
Massage oil might be a useful thing to put on your shopping list.
I can never concentrate enough on films to watch them.
A nice lighting effect though is worth considering. My favourite is a colour changing fiber optic light we have.
Fabulous feeling silky fabrics for dress up games.
Cosmetics, just in case you want to give yourself big lips.
One of those wire head massage thingies.
Some weed for the come down.
A perfumed candle or aroma therapy oil.
A piece of dark chocolate to share at some stage.
Make sure that your rolling room is nice and warm, particularly as you come up.
Make sure that your playlist is dummy proof. There's nothing worse than having to concentrate on working dumb machines when your head is elsewhere.
Hold hands when you are peaking and sniff poppers for a shared experience that is completely different.
 
To be honest that all sounds amazing especially the fuzzy stuff. but on one occasion i met this guy who was a friend of mine who was a complete stranger to me, while we were all rolling the roll started at about 10 at night while we played video games. 30 min into the roll bam we were all sucked into a very emotionally deep conversation and what seemed like half hour later i looked at the clock and it was 5 in the morning. The best therapy while rolling is talk. We all felt so connected as did i with a complete stranger and even a few hours after the comedown we were still blabbing away. If you talk about your past problems while rolling chances are youll be like... "shiittttt im still alive and all i know is im strong and hey this couch is soooooo soft" followed by much laughter.

Have fun and hopefully it is as therapeutic as you'd expect.
 
if i were alone, i'd roll outdoors (warm and sunny! cold sucks for rolls, trust me) with headphones and music, taking breaks to hear nature and whatnot.
music is best during the beginning when its most intense. with my playlists, i put the trippiest stuff first, then gradually going down to chill.
all the music can still be considered "trippy" tho. what i like about indoor rolls is once its done or dying down, go outside and see the world. it'll blow your mind.
all the beauty within, and now look at all this. trying to describe it is an injustice to the feeling. i recommend a nice joint or blunt, as sometimes the roll can die abruptly.
plus some herb is nice for after i think.
 
ive read that the warmer/hotter you are, the harder/'better' the roll is. CAREFUL THOUGH, too hot can be neurotoxic and is worse for dehydration and whatnot. dont be too hot and stay hydrated. i think thats another reason why people roll so hard at raves. the music, the vibes yeah, but also all the heat.

Heavy exercise releases neurotransmitters in the CNS and subsequently releases serotonin too. Another possible reason why people roll hard at raves.
 
Apparently a therapy session might not go down. She decided she would rather roll with the guy she likes right now. :|

So I guess it's just a one-on-one with myself. I don't mind that at all.

Cant you save it for a rave or an event or a festival? that's what id do, id never solo-roll ever
 
Any "raves" are out of state and I have a lack of friends willing to be the designated driver. I have a friend coming in a couple weeks who said we could roll at his place in Hampton beach, which sounds incredibly awesome.
 
i'd have to respectfully disagree with sam here now.
if therapy is still on your mind then why not be your own therapist? ive read so much recently about solo rolling and how therapeutic it can be, with me agreeing completely. if youre a social person go to the rave. if you dont mind being alone then i say go for it. not hating on raves or anyone else's opinions, i just never found therapeutic benefits from rolling at raves. it was more fun than anything. much needed fun, but not the growth or change from other ways of rolling. just my opinion.

PS. have a mirror in front of you. OMG TRUST ME. roll alone, and stare into that mirror. trust me.

Sorry to hear that your friend has backed out.
you could try rolling alone, but personally I'm not sure if that would be a good idea, especially if you are feeling emotional.
You need to be able reach out and touch another person to deal with shit.
Solo rolling is something else - I've done it quite a bit, but it's not therapeutic in the sense meant here.
