Id like to ask if anyone out there is like me. I have a huge opiate tolerance and with much hydrocodone experiance it literally does nothing for me anymore. No matter how many i take(without od) i only get high for about 20 minutes and it is not a plesant high. I try to mix it with weed and i feel nothing but the weed high.

Tramadol on the other hand if i take anywhere between 400 to 500mg i feel amazing for like 6 to 10 hours. Its not like a crazy high feeling but like a chill feeling. If i mix it with smoking some weed i feel amazing.

My question is does anyone else prefer tramadol over a stronger opiate or am i all alone lol?

No you're not alone, i absolutely adore it and must be one of the lucky ones with plenty of the enzyme to get its full potential. I've been hooked on codeine. Had a run on dhc, tried morphine, tried h, didnt really like it. But tramadol works for me, hard opiates users may call bullshit on this but i swear when i first started using tramadol i was nodding hard the first few times. I can still catch the odd nod here and there. It also lifts my spirits, gives me motivation and feeling of Wellbeing. Careful with doses tho, once you go over the 400mg mark, your seizure risk sky rockets! Although I've taken 850 with no bad effects. Which was silly as i knew the risks.

I love me some tramadol. I defiantly perfer it over hydrocodone. But not much else. Id take codeine over it. But tramadol is so cheap and i would get it by the 500 plus at a time so itd be wonderful binge on it. Hydrocodone doesnt last long enough for me and I get way to sick. I love how long tramadol, and drinking sodas on it for the caffiene to keep the peak going. Add some soma to it and your in love.

The doses of tramadol that you're taking are very, very high. At that level, you're really risking a seizure.

unfortunately i seem to be one of the few that feel absolutely no effects from tramadol. i've taken repeating doses on 400mg of various occasions and felt no buzz at all. the only thing tramadol is remotely good for in my opinion is for when you're dopesick. and even then it kind of sucks. but everyone is different. apparently some people do like it -.-

I feel the same way as you do man.. must be a jersey thing lol jk. but for real tramadol was something i was extremely interested in for a while and i was so happy when i had the chance to try it.. but it turned out a dud. Erowid and many other resources say it is a weak opioid... probably why there are little effects for some..

IMO hydro although i tend to get a little hooked on them...40 30mg tabs in little over a week.. ;)

Tramadol CAN be a great drug recreationally without a doubt, but should be used with caution. The doses should be kept as low as possible to avoid seizure risk, and serotonergic or noradrenergic drugs should often be avoided in combination with tramadol to prevent serotonin syndrome and seizures, however, some drugs are far riskier to combine with tramadol than others. I try not to compare it much against other opiates because it is just different, even though there is apparent opioid action. As mentioned, one really nice thing about it is the duration of action of the drug - the high can just go on and on, and re-dosing with tramadol is often very effective at keeping it going provided not too much is being used. I have had to brushes with tramadol dependence, only 4 - 6 weeks each, but coming off was psychologically hellish likely due to the SNRI crash and the opioid wd's.

Tramadol is sweeeeet, and this is coming from someone who has had some very unpleasent experiences with it. I've actually had four seizures on three seperate occasions and one hospital visit from my usage. Moderation and respect is definitely the key with this chemical. The last time I had a seizure, I took around 1300mg (yes, I know, fucking stupid dose) and witnesses said I had a seizure that lasted around 7-8 minutes. One of my friends who saw it happen actually vomited when she saw my skin turn a grey/white colour and my lips turn blue! That being said, when used sensibly, it can be a lot of fun. When using Tramadol, I love nothing more than to lay in bed and watch films. It gives a lovely, warm euphoria and it has an impressive duration too! For me, one dose usually lasts 8+ hours. A downside to Tramadol, especially for new users, is that it can take a hell of a long time to kick in, often 90+ minutes. This can cause many people to take more thinking they haven't consumed enough which will often lead to overdose.

Also, it's common - at least in my circle of friends - to use opiates after MDMA/Mephedrone sessions to negate comedowns. We never use Tramadol for this purpose as, aswell as being an opiate, it also releases quite a lot of serotonin and therefore, when used after these substances, poses a very real risk of serotonin syndrome. Just a friendly warning! :)

Treat it with respect, as a very thin line lies between lots of fun and potential seizures! <3

You sound exactly like me, hydrocodone lasts far shorter than it does with other people, and tramadol is disproportionately strong due to a higher amount of tram converted (O-Desmethylated) in to O-Desmethyltramadol through CYP2D6 polymorphisms.

The increased amount of CYP2D6 enzymes eliminate drugs like amphetamines and hydrocodone very quickly, making them less effective, while drugs like codeine (-> morphine) and tramadol (-> O-Des) act as powerful prodrugs.

White people are more likely to have CYP2D6 deficiency, which is why a lot of Americans complain about tramadol, while Middle Easterners are more likely to have CYP2D6 polymorphisms, which is one reason why tramadol abuse is an epidemic in the Gaza Strip.

Love Hydro, but using to much has taken its toll on me, so I have pretty much stopped now. Tramadol on the other hand does nothing to me, except make me sick, and I haven't took anywhere near as much as you guys. If I took 200 mg in one day I would be deathly sick.

wth... Ive had trams, plenty of times, ive never felt them to be worth a high? I don't know, just don't seem like nothing to write home about. Im a bth user now but even when I had no tolerance due to a 5 month break from oxys, i didnt get anything from trams even at 400mg.
