Is there really any point me trying to find someone and going out on dates when I'm on the dole (Welfare to people in the US)?Dating's expensive and I know nowadays a.guy doesn't have to pay for everything but when I've.paid rent' etc I've got fuck all left over and I imagine a guy without cash just doesn't sound very attractive. It'd be ok if I was 18 as alot of girls at that age don't have much cash but I'm 26.

You shouldn't hold yourself back, if that's what you are asking.

Is there a point to it? Probably not. All of life is likely to be pointless. But don't let that hold you back. You deserve happiness.

I was in the same position about a year and a half ago.. no job, no money, no future.. but tend I started dating this girl and she put me back in shape.. I now have a job I like and a girl I love much.. everyone deserves to be happy (but pedophiles)

I'm hurting as well. Can't collect unemployment (always been full time student), not eligible for welfare, had to move back in with my parents, got student loans to pay, no driver's license, on probation (no bar scene, no high romances), AND I'm flat broke (think I have $27.00 to my name). I still don't give up because I have been with the most incredible girl I have ever met, she loved me unconditionally no matter how badly off I was, yet I threw it away for heroin. I'm clean now and see some amazing girls out there who stick by their husbands/boyfriends who fucked up royally and are financially bankrupt. The one's who care about money don't fully care about you. Just keep a clean appearance and as was mentioned, make an honest attempt to get out of the situation you are in and eventually you will find a girl who loves you for you, not the contents of your wallet.

You should want a girl that's going to be with you for your personality and not your wallet anyways, so when you think about it now is the perfect time to try and find a girl before you get back on your feet because you'll know shes with you for all the right reasons.

The idea that you should fall in love with someone's personality is outdated romantic claptrap.
