benzos and 2c-e

Just a quick question regarding the common "conception" that benzos kill a trip, after a hard day drinking, a dose of mxe, a dose of 2cb and 6 etizolam my friend decided to snort 6mg of 2c-e and said it was the most epic visual experience he has had on any drugs.

so do benzos really dull down tripps ?

Benzos don't really "kill" a trip dead, nor do other GABA-ergics like alcohol or GBL/GHB. What they can do though is kill the mental side of the trip when taken in small doses, which can be good for a purely recreational experience as it can reduce any anxiety and thought loops - though it can take away from the profundity and "magic" of the experience which is why most people choose to avoid the combination.

Taking too much will also knock you out, and that's another place where they have use as a "trip killer", because if one's trip is incredibly bad or dragging on too long you can take enough to pass out and avoid going through any more of it.

Depending on how someone sees "dulling down" or "killing" a trip, it could. Using benzo's on or at the end of a trip really relax things a lot and make the agitated/energetic side of the trip cease so if that is the part of a trip that you seek then it does kill it in that sense. However, it can really help to relax an otherwise agitated trip and doesn't significantly diminish the visual aspect of it.

I definitely get a severe diminishing of all psychedelic effects from taking benzodiazepines, the severity depending on the type of benzo and the dose. Taking just 0.5mg of alprazolam will knock down the visuals at peak effects down to what they would be at say, t + 10 hours (basically very minor visual relics of the trip, slight waviness and weak CEV patterns). Mentally, of course, the anxiety is gone, and it also tends to get rid of the body high, replacing it with a fantastic super benzo body buzz.

I can take 0.5mg of Clonazepam and still have some noticeable visuals, but they aren't special or overwhelming, ever. All of my IRL friends have reacted the same way. I think there is a subsection of the population who can take benzos during a trip and still ~trip balls~ and get really crazy visuals like the OP, but I think that it is a minority and that benzos do tend to attenuate the full spectrum of effects from a trip, to varying degrees.

I personally find benzos to numb me to visuals and trips but leave me with a euphoric body high however i wa\s just curious because my friend ( actual friend ) was tripping absolute balls off of 6mg of 2c-e after 6mg etizolam, which I was very suprised at when he said the closet and fan where dancing and sending the music to him haha.
