The most disturbing film you have seen?

black swan. not gunna lie. shit freaked me out........
eraserhead was weird...don't know if disturbing is the right word???

as a child i was exposed to fantastic planet, tommy, and the wall way too early and various scenes from each haunted and disturbed me for years to come...

I just saw Snowtown, a movie about Australia's most notorious serial killer who tortured and murdered a lot of people in the 90s - very disturbing, to me at least, especially the insidious way the main character infiltrates the community and family he lives with. Some awful scenes too, although thankfully a lot left up to my (very active) imagination.

Good movie though.

I've seen a majority of movies mentioned here, as well as many real killings and simply gore videos, yet I've never been "disturbed" by a movie. I think it's just me though. So much of the population seems much more sensitive to "negative" things than I am, affected easier. I've never had any lasting effects on my psyche from movies, other than having nightmares as a young child when my brother thought it'd be a good idea to come up behind me and grab me whilst shouting "RAAAAAAA!" during the peak after a build up in the scary scene of a movie.
I mean there are even people who take real offence from movies and go to great lengths to I don't even know what you'd call it, ban the movie or warn others or whatever it is they try to achieve.
I just don't understand that kind of mentality, I can understand feeling disturbed or sickened by a movie but feeling the need to essentially end it's existence... I mean it's a movie. It has actors and a director. It's not real.

Well I just wanted to vent because I think it's a bit unfair that everyone else gets to experience such things from movies while I'm stuck here with a blank face.

this isn't exactly disturbing, but it sort of is, since it deals with really fucked up shit. it's a movie called happiness. anyone see it?

Yes, yes, and yes on American Psycho! Also, try Hard Candy for some role reversal, and Feed if you don't have a weak stomach.

...I like really effed up movies.

Yeah Happiness and Hard Candy were pretty disturbing ... I hated the end of Happiness though, for some reason it got a bit ridiculous. Other than that, it was a really difficult movie to watch, more so the subject matter and the subtle but horrible way it was portrayed.

i've most likely seen most of the films listed here, but for some reason antichrist really bothered me. ugh. it's like some serial killers fascinate me and others just piss me off. i hate nature, so it was probably that. the ticks on the hand scene....ugh.

Sorry, but are you dumb? Anton Chigurn from No Country for Old Men is a text book psychopath, lmao. Watch this scene, and tell me Anton from "No Country For Old Men" isn't a psychopath.

You have no IDEA what ASPD is, so quit pretending you're interested in the personality type. You'll never be able to grasp it, and you'll never be able to understand it. It's cookie cutter, in a way, but at the same time it's also subjective. Noob.

Hard candy is a good one. The dark knight is amazing. American Psycho is hilarious.

Cruel Intentions is also a good one. With That girl from Buffy the Vampire playing a rich teenage psychopath (quite sexy), it's not about killing, but it's about exploitation and manipulation.

GWEN COOPER???? Let's talk Torchwood. <3

Try the original 1974 version of texas chainsaw massacre. Very morbid, little to no violence, but is suggested.. grainy pic all adding to a nasty atmosphere.. some say this one started the slasher genere..

I Stand Alone directed by Gaspar Noe is the most disturbing movie I have ever seen by far.

Have you seen 'Irreversible'? It's the movie the director/writer's made after 'I Stand Alone' featuring the lovely guy. I thought Enter The Void was a steaming pile of shit, though.

Oh goodness, I didn't mean it was disturbing. I more meant Oh, look, another Torchwood fan, I'm going to say hi! And how do you mean, why won't The Queen let you? And yes he is. Oh yes.
