Opioids Good starting oxy iv dose

Indeed, take all conversions with a grain of salt and reduce your dose even further. You can always titrate up but people seem to think that they have to do it all at once for it to work, which is false.

That sucks, oxy used to be so strong to me. But ill push 6-8mg dillies. But that is when i re-dose over and over i need that much for a rush. I dont understand the hype of oxy it generally goes for <NO PRICE DISCUSSION> a mg and when compared mg to mg with morphine IV its actually weaker. Guess its never too late to put that damn pointy thing down

But with those damn dilaudids it sometimes takes 6mg. I used to insuffilate the same oxys a few years back at about 10-20 mg. My tolerance stayed stable back than. In my understanding the bio availability of oxy insuffiated is around 80%? So even if my tolerance has doubled 30mg should be sufficent correct? I some times will amp it up with a dxm/antihistamine combo.

I disagree--IV oxy has a great rush. It's similar to dilaudid and hydromorphone caps. I didn't feel a thing when I was used to IV'g morphine, though, or at least it took a 160 mg shot of oxy to feel it (and even then it was pretty ho hum). I think if you're accustomed to morphine shots or heroin shots there's no point, but for those who aren't there is definitely a rush. I know addicts who can't feel a shot of 8mg of dilaudid anymore, but that doesn't mean there's no rush to it. It all depends on your tolerance. I used to IV about 800 mg of oxy a day, which was certainly a waste of money and life. After a few months of clean time, I got an amazing rush from one 40 mg oxy.

I don't recommend it for you, as I think it'll be pointless, but I don't want your decision to be based on incomplete information.

I really don't know how anyone can compare shooting oxy with hydromorphone.... it's a night and day difference. Dilaudid has one of the most, if not the most intense rushes ever, and oxy barley has one at all. Some would say it has actually zero rush. Oxy has as an instant onset... but that by no means qualifies as a rush.
 
The cool thing about oxycodone is you don't really need to adjust your dose too much based upon your ROA. They're all roughly the same, with maybe a 20% difference. The rush is the only thing that might be dangerous. I suppose you could fall down and hit your head on something if you did a little too much. IV oxycodone is a waste of time anyway. I IV virtually every drug that it's possible to do so with, but I always chew and swallow oxycodone.
