Misc Question on Zoloft + Diphenhydramine

Hi Everyone,

I have been reading the boards for close to 2 years now but this is my first posting. I am a 34 year old female cancer patient and take Dilaudid for breakthrough pain and am on a 50 Fentanyl patch. Sometimes I run out a bit early because I take more than what is prescribed due to the fact that some days I just wanna feel more warm and fuzzy than what I am prescribed. I am in a situation where I ran out of meds today and it is 2 days before I can refill. I am not in pain but when I run out of meds I can not sleep at all. I take 50 mg of Zoloft daily as well. Can I take more Zoloft and take Diphenhydramine with it to help me sleep? If so how much would you suggest taking? Any suggestions on what to take to help sleep? As you most likely can tell I am new to all this. My first experience with any type of medication was when I was diagnosed in 11/2010.

the zoloft might potentate the diphenhydramine, so start small, 25mg should have you nice and sleepy, if not try another 25mg.

Hi Brighton, thank you for the reply. I did 75 mgs along with my regular Zoloft dose and it put me right to sleep. I was afraid it would make me restless but I was lucky.
