Opioids Tramadol as a study aid?

Has anyone used Tramadol as a stimulant to increase focus? To study, work, workout, party, stay awake, etc? Basically anything a real stimulant (Ritalin to Meth) can help you achieve.

I have no access to real stimulants, and am torn between using Tramadol, Ephedrine, or Caffeine for finals week. Tramadol is supposed to feel like a light dose of amphetamines, it stimulates me more than Ephedrine, and it lasts forever.
 
Not in the sense you're talking about, but I was originally Rx'ed it because I was hurting so badly I couldn't focus in class...
 
I don't think tramadol feels the least bit like an amphetamine, or any CNS stimulant, but I find it motivates me, makes mundane tasks more enjoyable, and doesn't really harm performance, something it has in common with stimulants. Taking tramadol while at work certainly makes boring but busy days more interesting, and it's probably the same for school work.
 
Tramadol is definitely stimulatory, but don't expect miracles, and do realize that with continued usage you'll pay the price.
 
Tramadol does not feel anything near a study aid for me.... Definitely does not have any similarities to amphetamines IMO, from what I experienced when I use to use it.
 
xStayFadedx, I think people who feel "speedy" off of Tramadol are the ones who've never dosed a real CNS stimulant, like myself. Well, LSD is not what I would consider a stimulant, although it's very stimulating to me. Everything is weak once you have a benchmark to compare it to; I was satisfied with Caffeine until I discovered Ephedrine. I know if I were to try Amphetamines I would never go back to Ephedrine.

Whosajigawaaa, a small dose of Tramadol combined with Ephedrine (not safe because of seizure risk, but they were small doses of both) helped me cram material for a test and get an A (hopefully), maybe a B, on a test I would have failed otherwise, due to being behind with the material and missing a week of lecture due to illness. It also greatly increased focus, and gave me clean, focused stimulation, not jittery like caffeine.
 
There was a lengthy article posted by bagochina/seedless a long time ago, I'm not sure if he wrote it or not, but it describes heroin as being a very potent 'working' drug; exerting a 'lunar push' driving you to be motivated and focused to get a lot of work done you otherwise wouldn't have the inclination or attention to do. That was my experience with heroin and opioids in general as well- certainly very different from the way stimulants make such tasks 'enjoyable', but really I don't see why Tramadol wouldn't have such an effect whether or not it has stimulant qualities (from being a NERI right?). That said it wouldn't surprise me if it could be used as a study aid by some, and others would say that it makes it more difficult to concentrate depending on how they tolerate opioids, and Tramadol specifically. For example, heroin made it easier for me to concentrate and work on anything (as did Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, etc) while Propoxyphene made me a confused, sloppy mess unable to work and Hydromorphone just made me irritable for another shot. It'll all come down to how your body and mind respond to it as an individual. I wouldn't recommend Ephedrine as a study aid.

While opioids lack that satisfaction of accomplishment that stimulants add to every little thing you do, they increase interest to the extent that boring obligations become more interesting and you're more motivated to get into the things you're already typically interested in. It certainly happens with tramadol, in perhaps the most functional way of the opioids (granted tramadol is a hybrid of sorts), but I've also enjoyed this effect greatly on pods and low-dose heroin.

I think it's important to add that tramadol won't increase your focus or concentration if ADHD-like symptoms are your problem. They're primarily for increasing interest, and motivation is born of it.
 
I used to take my OC before I started studying for finals, but I failed a bio final and therefore the class because I nodded out the entire time while I was studying. Just take a lower dose that you know you will not fall asleep on.
 
I have taken 200-400 mg of tramadol at school a few times and did help me focus a bit I think, it gave a nice buzz as well when I had no tolerance!

Haha, had the same experience with using opioids at school. I think the only way opioids could be considered helpful with work is not in the same way as a stimulant, just that you feel happier and calmer no matter what you are doing, so something that you would normally dislike or find boring or have trouble motivating yourself to do would be easier. Opioids have pain-killing and anti-depressant properties, so that's why they help. But if you take too much you will just want to nod off on the couch watching movies. I certainly wouldn't recommend using opioids for this purpose because the risks of getting addicted and/or physically dependent are not worth the short-term rewards.
 
With Tramadol a lot of the effects seem based on enzyme functionality. Most people get nothing other than slight analgesia and a seizure, whereas some 'lucky' people can be floored by it. I'm one of the 'lucky' ones, which is in inverted commas as to me it was more enjoyable than Oxy, hence I became addicted and those WDs are incredible. If you get high off Tram, fair enough; just try and avoid everyday use, seizures and WDing sounds like a horrible combo!
 
Back in the 4th Year (Senior Year in the US) of my undergraduate degree, I would take tramadol for a little bit of a "spark" for classes, seminars, studying and writing papers. I found that it wasn't stimulating in the traditional sense, but its antidepressant qualities were actually very effective for schoolwork.. I've been prescribed Dexedrine IR as well, and comparatively speaking, while Dexedrine is great for pure stimulation, IME, it can be a bit random when it comes to being able to focus well. I found that Dexedrine would sometimes make me zone out, while tramadol was quite consistent in giving me that antidepressant burst of energy I needed to finish up my schoolwork without having excessive CNS stimulant effects.
