Opioids Best alternative to dilaudid for shooting

Hi. I am currently prescribed dilaudid for pain management which I have been shooting after micron filtering. It works well but I want to switch things up for awhile and my pain doc is willing to prescribe alternatives. So I was looking for some suggestions that would offer the safest and most enjoyable option for someone in my position. So what do you suggest for someone who will be micron filtering and shooting? I'm assuming anything extended release would be a bad choice, so I was thinking perhaps Roxicodone or a morphine IR. any suggestions welcome. Also, I get the feeling that the dilaudid I'm getting may very well be the best option for shooting. Is that correct? In any case, I would like to at least try switching to something else. Thanks.
 
You aren't really going to find that intense rush you get from hydromorphone anywhere else really.. the roxicodone would be a serious let down as IV oxy is pretty tame. Your best bet would be either oxymorphone, which is incredibly strong alone the same lines as hydromorph... or morphine.
 
Well euphoria wise you would be best with the dillys. But for pain management dilaudid iv'd does work wonders but rapes your tolerance. For more legs try morphine. Also maybe opana. Some would agree a dose of dxm 1 hour before you dose makes it better, it definaty works for me. As i would normally do 6mg i went to 4 and ate 40mg dxm an hour before. The rush lasted longer was stronger and the overall high was better.
 
IME IV morphine was not too nice... I would always get pretty intense flushing & I'd itch everywhere. Just for a few minutes though. It makes it kinda hard to enjuy the rush.
You're probably best off with Dilaudid because it has a high oral/IV bioavailibility ratio, so an IV dose gets 5x more in the blood than you're supposed to be getting by taking it orally. So does morphine but it's not as nice (but like ahkwa said, it has legs.) I never had opana/oxymorphone. If you were to switch to an orally equivalent dose of oxycodone, you would most likely be dissapointed since IV oxy is only slightly stronger than oral and has less of a rush.

You can achieve similar results to IV Hydromorphone by taking half your dose via the rectal route, and the remaining half up the nose.

I have achieved incredible analgesia (and as a side effect, euphoria, rushing, intoxication) via these routes.

Fuck the oxycodone, IMO.

Honestly you will not find the same rush with any of the other commonly prescribed narcotics, save for oxymorphone (opana), which is kind of like dilaudid with legs (it's also more potent). I would just stick with what you have, IV oxycodone was the biggest dissapointment in my life (as far as drug experiences go). There is no rush, just immediate onset, which is kind of a hard thing to fathom if you havnt experienced it before, but it's not worth trying even once, just take my word for it.
 
Seriously, everyone I know that is a real person, ( I.E. not including people I don't really "know" like those kids from florida on intervention) has gone from IV oxycodone back to oral.

If my friends who are beyond junkie status are not shooting up oxy despite their needle fetish, this should be proof enough that IV oxycodone ain't worth the calories it takes to prep the shot.

Directions for oxycodone: 1) Check how much your doctor wants you to take. 2) Insert said amount of oxycodone into your oral cavity. 3) Flush your oral cavity with water. 4) Swallow ;)

This made me laugh. I would never IV oxycodone again, and I have real bad needle fever. Certain drugs are just better taken orally. The only advantage to IV oxycodone is that you get to see blood rush into syringe... :/
 
Hardly an advantage, from a rational, non-needle-loving standpoint, hehe.

<3 Z <3 get better for me, you're making great progress keep it up, you don't need needles to get high.
 
When I was using, the only thing that came close to a IV dilly rush was a good dose of IV morphine after having taken about 25-50 mg of hydroxyzine 25 minutes prior to deal with the itching and to potentiate the morphine. At one point, 15 mg/mL amps of morphine had hit the streets. I'd get a larger syringe with a 28 gauge needle and boot up that way so I could do larger shots. I'd use sterile saline or sterile water for injection for to buffer larger shots. I loved the morphine rush. 60 mg of IV morphine was incredible, mind you it was a big shot, but well worth it. We don't have Opana here in the Land of Bagged Milk, so I've never tried oxymorphone. I was a real needle freak when I was using, so if I had a good prescription opioid/opiate (e.g. oxy, dillies, morphine), I had to IV it for some reason. Anything other opioid/opiate, I'd just take orally. It's strange, once you get on the needle, you end up loving the needle. Oh yeah, and anyone that says that IV oxy has a rush is an idiot, as said many times in this thread, it just has instant onset. Strange that I fell in love with that instant onset.
 
Dillies have always been my favorite IV drug. If your really set on switching it up, I would suggest Opana IR ... obviously try to get the highest dose haha. I have never personally IVed opana IR's but have always wanted to. never any IR's around here >_< ..But from what I hear opanas a good IV rush and high
