Opioids Codeine extraction (freebase) minus the caffeine?

I've found a number of ways for CWE followed by washing with Chloroform and NAoh.

Anyone know soomeone who's had luck with the process?

From what i'm reading there are multiple methods:
- CWE, wash with cloforom, and NAoH, re wash with cloroform then evaporate
- CWE, wash with cloroform, evap
- CWE, precipitate with Sodium Carbonate (bi-carbonate)

i'm home-chemistry levelled. Question is:
a) Bi carbonate or Carbonate?
b) will that remove caffeine (i am sensitive to it)
c) is the NAoH necessary for a Chloroform wash?

If anyone has a great, realiable link, that would be awesome!

Chloroform used to be used for decaffeination, and caffeine is only moderately soluble in cold water, so I assume the CWE should remove a good amount of the caffeine and the chloroform wash should help remove most of the rest if I am correct. But I don't really know enough about this process to answer your other questions unfortunately.
