I hope i am putting this thread in the correct place but I have alot of questions about how certain drugs effect someone who is on a methadone program. Currently Ive been in treatment for about 7 months but have only been at my "theraputic dose" (100mg) for about 3 months now.
I feel I have to say that I am an avid drug user who likes to try and find new, fun and interesting ways/combos of getting high. In saying that I am also no stupid and will not do anything that I feel could hurt me or anyone i know. I have taken SOME chances but in my eyes i felt that the worst case senerio would not be death or a hospital trip.
Can anyone educated me on some things to either stay away from or try??

<no price or drug testing discussion please>

i will include more information and specific questions later i just wanted to see if anyone would reply with some informations

a short list of what i have tried on 100mg methadone

pot (my true love and an everyday activity)
heroin
xx
mdpv
klonapins
mec4 crystals
cannabanoids

amounts and expierencs can be posted later

i hate being ignorant about these types of things and would love any type of education!!

Do not combine clonazepam with methadone, due to potentially lethal respiratory and overall CNS depression.

Do not take MDPV for any reason whatsoever, put it in the trash where it belongs.

Cannabinoids and the pot containing them are fine with methadone.

Heroin, best avoid this if you want to make any serious recovery while on methadone maintenance.

Please remove the price discussion and drug testing discussion from your post and read the basic drug discussion forum guidelines.

Methadone does have quite a few drug interactions/contraindications but the danger of many of them is often greatly reduced for someone who has been on MMT long-term at the same dose and doesn't feel a "high" or sedation from methadone. So whether something is safe can vary depending on the person and their circumstances and tolerance to methadone (and the other drug of course).

As for the specific drugs you mentioned:
Marijuana - No adverse interaction that I know of.
Heroin - Since they are both opioids there is the danger of overdose if combining, but methadone has a high cross-tolerance for heroin. Usually people report not being able to feel heroin at the dose of methadone you are on.
xx - Not sure what drug you are referring to here.
Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) - I really don't know. I think the methadone may partly counteract its effects. This could lead to a dangerous situation if a person takes too much MDPV because they aren't feeling it.
Clonazepam (Klonapin) - The methadone and clonazepam will intensify each other and increase the risk of overdose, so if you are going to take this take much less than you normally would.
Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (4-MEC) - I'm not sure. Probably the same as the MDPV.
Cannabinoids - There are a number of different cannabinoids with different effects. I don't really know enough about them all. I would say when in doubt try a smaller dose than usual to start.

Maybe someone else will have better info on the ones I was unsure about.

This. I lost a good friend to this combination, and another lived only because his girlfriend found him in time, blue in the face and barely breathing.

Correct. People have died for no apparent medical reason and they suspect it's because methadone lengthens the QT interval, which to my understanding is part of the electrical part of our hearts that controls heartbeat, and if something is lengthened and not in sync with everything else then you have problems, like a heart attack. Which is a major problem if you ask me.

I've had a surprising number of people I know say that methadone, and only methadone, makes their heart feel "funny".

Ugh, I hate methadone. Interestingly, codeine actually does this to me to a much greater degree than methadone. It might just be that I'm allergic to codeine, since heart palpitations are a symptom of a codeine allergy. But I'm pretty convinced opioids in general have messed up my heart. It gets really bad when I am in withdrawals.

Personally I don't like to mix drugs unless it's something I legitimately need, it's not worth the added risks that come from using multiple drugs at the same time.
