I really don't think it's all that long. Sure, 100 years ago the world was hugely different (ww1 and whatnot). But again, I'm forced to bring up the fact that even if we're only talking about since modern humans have existed(which the OP never specifically said btw), 100 years is still only a small percentage. Modern humans have existed for what, 150,000-200,000 years?
It may be small considering how long we've been around, but technology has been progressing at an exponential rate. We've come a long way technologically in the past 100 years, hell even in the last 30 years. We are now connected in a way that never could have been expected. I'm not sure what the next 100 years will bring us, as I'm sure people 100 years ago could have predicted what will happen, but here are my guesses.
First off, because there is the possibility of an asteroid hitting earth in April 2036, (Friday the 13th

Many more of our liberties will be done away with in order to "protect" us.
Life expectancy will well over 100 (at least for the rich), from the ability to grow organs.
There will have been a woman president
Fundamentalist Christians will have predicted the world ending at least 15 more times 8)
