What are long acting benzos?

Diazepam it is then. What dose of diazepam would be equivalent to 1mg of xanax? I wanna make sure I get enough this time because the doctor only gave me 7 1mg xanax tabs which wasn't enough.
 
20 mg of diaz(2 valium) = 1 mg. xanax....according to conversion charts...:)

They all act differently..so nobody can say for sure..
body chemistry and such...

I'm glad I switched to diazepam. Alprazolam sedated me well but put me in a dull, disinterested (I couldn't even watch TV because that requires a bit of interest) state whereas diazepam sedates me a bit less but makes me feel much better. I don't remember xanax altering my sleep too much but diazepam gives me mad vivid dreams which are full of false awakenings.
 
I havent tried Valium in like 10 years & back then, I didnt like how it made me feel the next day. Then again, I didnt like vicodin or percs back then either. I will give it another go soon, seems everyone liked them.........

But I know just what you mean...10 years can change all kinds of things....

half-life alone doesn't determine duration. protein binding and other factors are important.

unless your enzyme profile is different than normal (which may be the case) clonazepam will have the longest duration, followed by diazepam, followed by alprazolam. i don't have a table with the therapeutic durations of other benzos.
