Abilify + Shrooms

I am planning to do shrooms, but I have a quick question. I am currently on 10mg Abilify before going to sleep, which does absolutely nada, but how long do I have to wait before I am able to feel the effects of shrooms properly after quitting the med?

And please don't ask why I want to do shrooms when I am put on an anti-psychotic. Thank you.
 
Aripiprazole (Abilify) has a really long half life, >72 hours and with active metabolites.. so a good while. I'm not sure what blood-concentration would affect psychedelics..
 
I would suggest quite a while, perhaps 2+ weeks for best result. Even after the drug has cleared from your system, I would allow your mind and body to re-adapt to life without a neuroleptic.

Why take it? I'd discuss an alternative with your doctor. There is no sense in taking an anti-psychotic if there are no subjective benefits.

What do you think about it in terms of side effects and effects? I've only written it twice when indicated for an add-on to antidepressants for two treatment-resistant patients who didn't respond to Parnate.

Add: I'm curious how it feels. I try to eat every drug I write and I have not eaten aripiprazole.
 
^ Well, for me it's subtle. I'm not very schizophrenic so I don't really notice the effects until the end of the day when I'm thinking over the day passed. And it has a subtle anti-depressant profile too, imo/e.

True that. I'm not really sure why I've been taking it for so long when all I've felt so far is restlessness and anxiety as side-effects. Maybe because I've been thinking it may be beneficial in the long run, as the side-effects have been subtle enough for me to be able to stand them.

I'm going a bit off topic here, but anybody that knows of other anti-psychotics similar to abilify in terms of its mild profile of side-effects?
