2c-c bad reaction

After a reagent test and an allergy test of 500mcg-1mg with no adverse reaction, I consumed 30mg of pure white 2c-c on an empty stomach.
Within 45 mins I could feel the creeping onset, was not to different from other PEA's such as 2c-e and i, but it developed into a very toxic feeling. My head began to ache and a nausea fell over me that made the bodyload of 2c-e seem benign. I spent the rest of the day running to the bathroom to dry heave my guts out. My breathing seemed extremely labored. At first I thought it was psychological and if I could just relax, smoke a little bowl and listen to some mellow tunes I'd start to flow with it, this was not the case, the effects of this drug, and by that I mean the high if you can even call it that, seemed extremely wrong. It was something akin to a psychedelic flu with hints of delirium. The visuals where disorienting and annoying. The entire time I wished I could undo what I had done to my body.

This stuff is trash, at least for me. I was under the impression that it was similar to 2c-b, but even more mellow. I have tried quite a few PEA's and none seemed as toxic as 2c-c. Felt I needed to share this with you so that maybe you can avoid the misery I went through.

Any of you out there seem something similar?

This is why I stick with mushrooms to get my psychedelic jollies. I can't see why I would ever need more than they have to offer, but if ever do I will go with cactus. I'm glad you seem to be alright though and thanks for warning us.

That seems a bit of an odd reaction to a moderate dose of 2c-c. Most people that I know who've taken it found it to be among the most benign PEAs. YMMV as always though. Were there any extraneous factors that may have colored your experience negatively? Such as dehydration, low blood sugar, unresolved stress, less than optimal environment?

Same here, all of my fellow researchers claimed it was extremely mild in comparison to its sisters, one person I know of has taken upward 70mg and had no body load at all, thats why I was worried when I started feeling the way I did from such a dose.

There wern't really any factors that I can see contributing to such a negative reaction. I stayed hydrated by slowly sipping water and gatorade while I wasn't puking, but for about 4 hours or so, it was impossible to keep liquids down. It wasn't that the trip was intense or strong, it was more of how disturbing the side effects were.

At any rate, I flushed the rest, no one deserves to go what I went through.

"Thanks for warning us"? Dude, there's a whole Big and Dandy thread full of people already relating their wonderful experiences with this compound, not to mention years of glowing reports on Erowid. It's not as if nobody has taken it before and everyone needs warning, the cat's already out of the bag with this chemical, and it's a winner. This is obviously just a highly idiosyncratic reaction or a bad set/setting which happened to turn out bad. It could have been caused by many factors.

I am almost completely certain it had nothing to do with set and setting, I was in great spirits and have been for a while, and the place I chose to trip has always been a place of security and comfort.

So i wold have to agree with you, while this chemical may be wonderful for some, it was most likely a negative reaction to my bodies chemistry. Im not saying everyone will react the same, but I will say that the effects I went through, even as unusual the reaction from such compound, I wouldnt recommend taking the risk for such a benign trip to begin with...

Well, many others, including me are just simply going to disagree with you then. 2c-c is "benign" in the sense that it usually tends to lack all of the symptoms you exhibited to even a normal degree - but that doesn't mean the trip isn't "intense." In fact, the relative benign nature of 2c-c allows the doses and relative intensity to be pushed much, much higher than a lot of other compounds, hence it being a winner. Why would it not be worth the risk any compound carries? You have to remember that anyone can react the way you did to just about any psychedelic drug. You have an obvious bias because you experienced those symptoms, but that doesn't mean other people shouldn't take the so called "risk" associated with 2c-c (but really any compound). If everyone who had a bad reaction to a psychedelic drug was telling us it wasn't worth the risk to take that drug, we'd basically be told that it isn't worth the risk to take any psychedelic drug at all.

nothing wrong with saying that it is still possible for a one of the most benign phenethylamines to go bad, or that there may be some bunk stuff around...

It seemed like beyond that, there was some proselytizing of exaggerated risks of 2c-c going on to me. I could be wrong, though. I just wouldn't go as far as saying "it's not worth risking taking 2c-c" and keep it at "be aware that anyone can react badly to 2c-c." I suppose not all of us remember or know that YMMV, though.

Sorry, I should have worded that differently. I know a lot of people have taken it before and I know that many people will continue to take it despite this. What I should have said was, "thanks for sharing your experience". It is always good to have information on possible negative reactions, even if they are rare.

ya I'm starting to think that a reagent test is not enough since it only shows if there is SOME of a chemical without listing all of the chemicals in the powder, it's too bad GCMS machines are so expensive... I would try putting some into a cup of water and using a water testing strip kit on it but still that will only show a few contaminants instead of everything.

I've been on 30+ 2C-C trips and it was mellow and beautiful like most reports I've read.

Sorry you had a bad time with it!

Is it possible you were dehydrated? I like to do a different compound, 25c regularly and this ONE time something similar happened to me. It started out wrong from the beginning. I was blacking out, visuals were ver hard to see because of big black spots, i felt sick to my stomach and was very thirsty. I forced myself to drink lots of water and keep it down and i was eventually okay
