Healthy Living Photo Thread v. What did you cook today?

NSFW:
Dinner tonight. Beef burgers on pita bread with rocket, oven roasted tomatoes, avocado, caramelised red onion and tzatziki.

Looks good. :D What's rocket?

Though they say a picture says a thousand words (and yours say "yum!"), you should consider telling us what's on the plates when you post them! Like, I can't tell what's at 11 o'clock in the first one (unless they're stewed prunes?), or at 12 o'clock in the second.

Was so eggcited [;)] to have stopped at the local farm today and picked up eggs and greens, I couldn't wait until tomorrow morning to have them. :D

Little bit out of focus, but damn was it good! Eggs, kale, local kale lol, and leftovers from lunch that included black beans, white rice, broccoli, and more kale. :D

Fear my poorly lighted webcam photo.

About a pound of hake, baked in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, lemon & lime juices, and topped with salt, pepper, rosemary, and capers. Threw some local habanero/pineapple hot sauce on it before devouring.

Sweet pickle

gotta love the kale =D can eat platefuls of the stuff with some chili sauce, or some nice sauce so healthy, amazing <3

Made my first decent breakfast in awhile and figured I'd share the adventure! NSFW'd due to my whoring of large pictures. :P

Pan contains: One potato, broccoli, spinach, onion, two eggs, and olive oil. And it is pretty freakin' good. :D

Wok contains: Chickpeas, brown Basmati rice, spinach, broccoli, onion, salad leftovers (green pepper and red onion), and olive oil... Otherwise known as "lunch". Looks and smells delicious. :D

The last pic's a little bit blurry, but it was taken at quarter to six this morning. ;)

it tastes better than it looks

Well it looks delicious so I'm imagining it tastes even better than that :D

S_L and addi p, my flatmate is totally paleo-diet, so I've been having stuff like that for breakfast too. It took me a while to get used to broccoli for breakfast (I may have gagged the first few times :D) but now I'm good. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE broccoli!! But for breakfast?? Took a bit of getting used to... :)

You've never had broccoli in an omelet before?! 8o (And don't say "it's different when it's in something" 'cause it's still solid when it's in an omelet. :P)

Nope, I'd never had broccoli in an omelette before eating paleo all the time! :D

^ I've had pretty much every food item for breakfast except ice cream and sweets. Well, unless you count pastries as sweets--I'm talking out right candy. ;)

Probably comes from growing up in a household where if you want dinner foods for breakfast, you have dinner foods for breakfast. :D Food is food--Doesn't matter when you eat it. :P

^^ Very good point hun! This has been a foreign concept to me until only recently =D

I keep forgetting to post photos of my experiments.

In the last couple of weeks:
  • Cauliflower/chickpea flour fritters with vegan creme fraiche and salsa
  • Chickpea flour crepes stuffed with sauteed mushrooms and garlic kale, topped with raw tomato relish
  • Several different veggie burger concoctions
  • Amazing (albeit involved) raw pizza
