Healthy Living Photo Thread v. What did you cook today?

^ They look good. :) What's in a few of 'em? Especially that first one--At five o'clock.

Not to mention, any friend of beats beets is a friend of mine. ;)

Ever eat the greens? Beet greens are awesome sauteed with garlic or bouillon. They're a bitch to clean though--Require a good soaking, or else you end up with a lot of grit in the final dish.

(Also, pardon the spelling up there. It's "beet", not "beat". 8))
 
Todays brekkie was sweet-ish chickpea flour crepes with almond butter "cream" and habanero jelly. Didn't have time to take a photo before eating it, but I assure you that it was epic.
 
Was really in the mood for pasta with a creamy sauce instead of tomato-based. Lacked "milk", so I searched for a recipe with nooch without milk and found one! Ended up being soooo good, but I will be halving the bouillon I used instead of broth next time. Way too much salt! :P

chicken breast, eggs (for the egg white fuck the cholesterol), brocoli...salmon... gotta love that protien:)
 
I made some bread today! I used spelt flour for the first time and used wholemeal instead of white. It's a pretty dense but soft bread with the most amazing crust. I'm sure I could improve as I continue to make it but it tasted great just the same.

We had some just out of the oven with jam then I picked some cherry tomatoes and basil from our deck plants and had those with the bread and extra virgin olive oil for lunch today.

i crave pancakes. i dont consider them that healthy so I tried to make a healthier version at home:

trader joes multigrain baking mix
milk
egg
pure vanilla extract
cinnamon
instead of maple syrup, I used sliced bananas and strawberries
 
Ah, gotcha. Love the stuff. Never heard it called nooch before though; what an odd word.

Aaaaaaaaaaanyway.... I finally remembered to take a photo of my supper for once. I've been messing around with raw food lately, and this was my first big success. Spiralized zucchini and sliced crimini mushrooms in a raw teriyaki sauce alongside a hemp and sunflower seed Sunburger, served with a dollop each of cashew aioli and a sun dried tomato relish, on a couple of leaves of butter lettuce to act as a bun. The burger and sauce were both riffs on recipes from Ani Phyo's Raw Food Essentials.

Dinner tonight. Beef burgers on pita bread with rocket, oven roasted tomatoes, avocado, caramelised red onion and tzatziki.
