Alright guys and girls, how's it hanging? Not sure if you guys allow threads like this here but I've seen a few over in EADD where I reside so thought I'd give it a blast.

I'm heading over from England in August for (hopefully) a year or so. I want to fly out to Perth and find myself a job and a place to live for ~6 months and build up some funds before doing a bit of travelling around. First off I'm not here to source drugs, I'm actually looking forward to getting away from the whole scene for a bit (well, a day or two =D). I was just wondering if anyone around the area can suggest places of interest to visit, good bars/clubs (I'm into DnB, dubstep, psytrance, that sort of thing), general places where young people hang out and such. I'm also into the freeparty scene here at home and I'm gonna be looking to go to some doofs at some point, can anyone suggest any club nights that I could head to to meet people who are involved with the scene? Is it the same as it is here in England, ie. phone numbers with a recorded voicemail with directions? Just looking to party in general really, I have a travel guide but local's advice always comes first for me.

PS. If anyone knows anyone who's got a room to rent or a job vacancy of any kind from August time that would be awesome! :)

They will probably move it to Aus social but the traffic there is so low you won't get many replies. Check out the doof threads for info on those. There seems to be a decent scene in the West so once you head along to one of those I'm sure the rest of the pieces will fall into place.
 
Doofs happen around Perth every now and then, they usually send out mass text messages the day of the doof notifying people of how to get there. If you want to go to night clubs you'd be looking for one in Northbridge area (can be pretty violent area later at night).

P.S. Drugs are VERY expensive down here you'll probably be surprised coming from England.
 
Have a great time dude, but next time plan for Melbourne, much busier with the doofs.
 
Cheers for the replies! I'll definitely check out the doof thread. Might well head to Melbourne at some point during my trip as well, will see how it goes.
 
The cost of living is very high in Perth, unless you get a decent job you might struggle to save much

Other than that it's a fantastic place, you'll love it! :D

Stay away from the perth club scene....
