Here's a non-urgent question for y'all:

How come I still get high from 2 mg sub, even after almost a year. Isn't the "point" that you'll need higher and higher doses to get high?
I get just as high as day one from my 2mg... Just puzzles me, s'all.

I've used bupe before in the past. but I took 8mg. Ive actually read that 2mg might be stronger than 8mg because it's active metabolite norbuprenorphine is still active & if higher than 2mg doses are used than the buprenorphine saturated ya opiate receptors making the norbupe ineffective.
norbupe is more recreational than bupe. Im not sure exactly at what dose bupe becomes more recreational than the 2mg dose.
Does anybody know?
anyways.. that doesnt really answer ya question

With bupe, taking more and more isn't going to do anything, or get you any higher. If anything, you'll just have more side affects.

& when you say "after a year," do you mean daily for over a year? Or just sporadic use over the course of a year? Because yeah, your tolerance is going to rise, especially if you're using it daily (or any other substance), but if you're using it say 2-3x a week, or even less, I could see the same dose having the same effects. What's your ROA? But if you're taking it daily, and getting the same affects now, that you did on day one... that is pretty bizarre, for sure. (in my opinion.)

Are you using the bupe strictly recreationally, or are you using it as a maintenance med?

im glad to be part of BL now :)
anyways.. what dose of bupe do u think gives u the best effect with least side effects cloud?
2mg? wonder why they come in 8mg pills
I know someone who can has bupe tablets. Bupe didnt seem to have much of an effect on me. Ive always had a natural tolerance to opiates. I rarely do oxy but need atleast 80mg to really feel like it's worth it.
Id also like to know if Subutex is more recreational than Suboxone?
I might ask this in the bupe mega thread. because i might give them another try if they're more recreational in smaller doses

Personally, I think anywhere between .5-2mg is the best dose to use for any kind of recreational purposes. But the only way I find suboxone/subutex recreational, is when I've been abstinent from opiates for awhile, and my tolerance has dropped significantly...& when I'm not dependent on opiates, lol. If you have a tolerance to opiates, you're not really going to see much recreational value in bupe (in my experience.)

Also, it kind of depends on your ROA. If you're trying to actually get high on bupe, snorting it would be the best option. Any time I have the tablets, I snort them. I only use the films the way you're supposed to.

& as to which is more recreational, I personally prefer the subutex, but that's only because sometimes the nalaxone in suboxone gives me headaches. But it all really comes down to personal choice, since it's essentially the same thing. Just suboxone has nalaxone in it.

Edit: Welcome to BL, man... I'm glad to be a part of it too. :D

If you are still getting high after all this time just be thankful lol. Man if bupe got me high i'd have enough drugs to get high for hella long. I hear there is a shaman living in the mountains of Peru that can perform some type of ritual that converts partial agonists into full agonists. Lol jk

But regarding your question...assuming it is not related to some abnormality in your brain or body regarding the way you process drugs, I will say that it can probably be attributed to you keeping your dose low. Honestly I am kind of surprised you are giving this testimony being that it's been a year, but I do beleive it. IME buprenorphine retains it's more desireable qualities if you keep your doses really low. 2mg is right on the borderline of being able to retain the recreational effects over time-anything more you will not have anything more then a few week honeymoon phase. I usually advise people that if they want to sustain recreational use with buprenorphine you have to stay on a maximum of 1mg daily, the less the better. If you are interested in long term recreational use of buprenorphine search for posts by the user captain heroin. You will hit a gold mine.

Once your opiate tolerance rises above a certain point, any possibility of buprenorphine producing a high will be long gone. The only thing you could do would be total abstinence from opiates for quite a while, like 3 months +. Then when you do start your buprenorphine consumption again keep your max daily intake at 1mg daily preferebly less.

why isng dosing over 2mg any more recreational. is it because of the side effects increase?
or is it because the bupe saturates the effect of the norbupe?

I use 2mg daily. My ROA is snorting. As mentioned before, I divide the dose in two, which has helped A LOT! This is legal use. BUT, when I bought them on the street, I used 8mg, and that time my tolerance increased a lot, and ended up taking 16 mg with NO effect... In only three months... Which is what puzzles me.
So, smaller dose, better high? That's weird...

^^so u agree that 2mg gives a better effect than 8mg?
this would be because the norpbupes effects are overcome by the bupes effects. like i said before & the norbupe is more recreational.
im still trying to find out if 2mg gives the best euphoria to any dose. what about even 32mg (the ceiling dose) is it more euphoric than that?
DOES ANYONE KNOW?!

btw the peack time for sublingual is 1-4 hrs. does anyone know the peak for snorting?

I have been working on getting my bupe dose down.. At one point I was at 12mg bupe when I switched over from 80mg methadone. I got down to 6mg pretty quick but just the past 3 weeks I have been working on getting my dose down (even though I fucked it up getting dope a few times). Anyway I am down to 2mg daily which is the lowest I have basically ever been since I ever was on bupe/done. At first if you are tapering down or have a high opiate tolerance, you have to have an adjustment period but once your body gets used to the smaller dose, it actually starts to work better than the higher doses. THe side effects are minimal almost non existant, and I am beginning to get a little more out of bupe now on the recreational front which is something bupe has lacked to me for years.

I have a feeling when I get down to 1mg and level out it will only get better. It is not that bad making the drops but they do get much more noticeable <4mg. Going from 4mg to 2mg I did feel shitty for about 3-4 days which didnt really start until I was around 3 days into the new lower dose. Still it was not nearly as bad as some of the transitions I have had from IV dope back to bupe. After about 3 weeks 2mg was clearly working better for me.
