Opioids heroin vs morphine

I just had a quick question that I was interested in getting a little feed back on. Alot of times I read on websites that opiate users show no preference when administered an equal dose of morphine v heroin. In categories like euphoria, relaxation, ect. And I know heroin converts to morphine in your body before it binds to your opiate receptors. My question is(which I think i already might know the answer too) but how come I got much more euphoria when IVing heroin then I did with IVing morphine sulfate pills? I know the heroin I was getting was probably stronger then the morphine but I shot the morphine on a relapse when I couldn't find heroin so I had no tolerance and I definitely felt something...but it was weird not too euphoric and pins and needles kinda weird sensation flowing through my veins. I mean it did get me good in the fact that shit its an opiate but it was nowhere close to heroin. I think my own answer is that maybe its not medical grade morphine instead a morphine pill. Dunno if that makes a difference...Just kinda wanted some feedback. Thanks guys.
 
Heroin is just morphine that's been diacetylated so it crosses the BBB faster, hence the rush, hence the more euphoria.

I prefer morphine to heroin, they're basically interchangeable with a few differences.
IV grade morphine is much cleaner than prepping a shot from a morphine sulphate pill.
 
Yeah exactly what I was gonna say^ bout it crossin the BBb faster cuz of the DIAmorphine

... and the pins n needles r cuz morphs causes more histamine reaction than h. I'm not allergic but I straight broke out in hives and mad pins n itchy skin first time I was IV d with morph in the hospital

Exactly.

It is the 3,6-diacetyl ester of morphine.

3, 6-Diactylmorphine = heroin.
 
Yeah I knew about the BBB thing I was going to bring it up but the morphine hit me with a "rush" too...I could feel it starting in the heart and having the warm sensation move to the rest of my body....there was just a different kind of "rush" whereas these sites I was talking about say users show no preference to either one. Just like getting your guys viewpoint. I always preferred heroin..but in the end it brought me to a bad state of addiction anyways and I'm not using anymore, I just always wondered about that and wanted to see what you guys had to say.
 
I know you weren't disputing I was just clarifying on my part because I know about heroin's euphoric rush being caused by the way it crosses the BBB quick and I just wanted to clarify that morphine had a rush too but it was different although like I've said people show no preference meaning they saw no difference. Idk like I said just food for thought its not real important

Yeah, I did my own study of that with a group of friends, administered either morphine or heroin, they were not told which one. and out of 10 friends, only 3 were able to tell them apart.
 
^^Thats a very interesting little experiment you did there Tricomb, ive always wondered how it would work out if you seperated a bunch of people(say 10 ppl) who are experienced with various opiates and give 2 people oxy, 2 heroin, 2 morph, 2 fent and 2 methadone(administered intranasally or rectally) to see if they could discern which opiate they've been given. Im sure the results would be very interesting indeed.

Morphine and Heroin feel so different IMO and I honestly couldnt say which one I prefer. I find the morphine rush is much more pronounced than a heroin rush, and I feel morphine to be a lot more sedating and better for killing emotional pain. Whereas heroin is just straight up euphoric, the rush is much warmer, less "pins & needles" and it doesnt seem to last as long as morphine, the nods arent as deep either and it feels like a much "cleaner" high.

This is all personal of course and my mind may well be playing with me. In actual fact the characteristics I just described of those drugs may just be the way my body reacts, but those are the differences I have identified between those two drugs after using both many times. I know many people who say morphine is just a rush then a very mild high, therefor they only use heroin. Everyone feels things differently. I would be happy with either.

I doubt that I could tell the difference between heroin and hydrocodone, and depending on the dose oxycodone too.

I found IV morphine to have the same high as oral, after the rush was over of course. I don't know how such similar drugs can feel so different to me, but heroin is tied for my favorite opiate, and morphine is my least favorite. I find oxymorphone to feel more similar to morphine than heroin does.
 
One problem with my "study" was there's no way to give out equal dosing using tar heroin, hah. But 100mg morphine sulphate was the IV given and I much prefer morphine to heroin.
 
I think you've had some helpful answers. But technically we're not supposed to do drug comparisons.
